List of Katherine J. Atkinson's Reviews
Poor yearly physical exam, too busy typing away then giving an exam. Very distracted can be rude
She is a very good diagnostician and has a friendly demeanor.
I have been with Atkinson family practice for 10 years. In that time, I have met many of the support staff and been to many appointments. This place is professional, courteous, and caring and I strongly recommend it to my friends. When I ended up the hospital due to an accident, Dr. Atkinson gave me her personal cell number for any question or concern that I might have. She is an outstanding doctor who goes over and above for her patients. I feel lucky to be a part of the practice.
I've been seeing Dr. Kate and other providers within the practice for 10 years and counting! Never have an issue with booking appts, long waits, or communication! All of the staff are companionate and create a wonderful environment for their patients! I couldn't recommend a better family medicine practice than this one!
perfect. My previous doctor retired and I was lucky to have AFP accept me as a regular patient. I have had three visits in the past year and all better than expected. I was able to get a same day appointment for what appeared as a Lyme infection. I would recommend Dr. Kate and everyone associated with her practice.
After being on a long waitlist to enter the practice, I was offered an initial appointment 4 years ago. I thought it was my first check-up, but they just weighed and measured me and gave me brochures about the practice, then charged me $150 because my insurance didn't cover this introductory visit. Then I had to wait another 6 months for my physical, which they canceled right before it was supposed to happen and I had to reschedule for another 6 months out. In short, after 4 years, I have had exactly 1 physical because they have cancelled 5 times at the last minute. (One was due to COVID office closures, the others were because staff had left the practice). I brought my daughter once with pneumonia and they put us in an examination room and did not put the proper marking on the door, so the PA did not know we were there and we waited hours while others were seen ahead of us, until I finally came out in the hall and everyone was surprised that someone was in the room.
They prefer healthy patients. If you really need care and are suffering, you might look elsewhere.
Everyone seems busy. Had to re-explain my medical concerns several times. My visits to other referred doctors were never followed up with.
Terrible doctor-she has serious issues-would not recommend her whatsoever-visit ANY other physician.
Longstanding patient of Dr. Kate/Kate (yes, that is what you can expect to call her vs. Dr. Atkinson). The reviews are mixed here and at other sites for good reason: she is polarizing because, over time, she changes in her relationship with you. She expects her "love you," concluding each visit which is more talk therapy than exam to be sufficient reason to not want more from her support staff. Referrals often not completed; prescriptions frequently late or called in inaccurately by her staff. Combativeness by undertrained staff that is then blamed on patients who are summarily dismissed. Even if you do not expect perfection, rationality slowly recedes from view. She cultivates entitlement and over-sensitivity among her staff, and you might as well accept that if you want care here. If niceness by you and all concerned is more valued that proactive, accurate diagnosis and care, she will definitely be your cup of tea.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
