I dealt with this place digitally, so it might have been different in terms of my experience. But, I will say: If you genuinely want to seek help, then do NOT consider this place. I felt like while I was there in the Zoom calls, that no one truly cared about why we were all there. Everything had to be monitored, even things that we said/had to say. We didn't want to "trigger" others, so even mentioning certain Eating Disorder behaviors weren't allowed. Which, makes you think: If I'm here for E.D recovery, then why can't I talk about it?Also, another thing is... If you're in the IOP or the PHP program and it's over Zoom calls, they'll make you eat snack and lunch on camera. It's very uncomfortable for people like myself, especially when we can't just talk about what's on our minds. We have to cater to people's "triggers" and play games that make ZERO sense.It feels like they were focused less on Eating Disorder behaviors and dealing with thoughts that pertain specifically to Eating Disorders, and more on us actually eating.They only care if you've eaten that day and make you listen to generic, typical coping strategies for more Anxiety and Depressive behaviors rather than specified to Eating Disorders.

When treatment there was clearly not working for me(after PHP, IP, RESI, and then more PHP) they did not help me find new resources. They held back information from my new provider, and were rude when we decided I would be better somewhere else. During treatment there, I was treated like more of a paycheck than anything. And that makes sense considering that without insurance coverage, my 3-4 months with them would have cost upwards of $600,000. Treatment was impersonal and you were group treated. Staff was rude and clinical, and they were demeaning. My clinician in PHP, and my first one in Resi were both terrible, and had zero care for what I had to say. Amherst MHC for adolescents was absolutely terrible, and triggered everyone immensely. The only positive of any of this (Amherst PHP)was the tutor after program for adolescents. He was kind, unlike the staff.
