Dr Abazari has wonderful communication skills and is deeply caring. She is also technically excellent and builds confidence. Great physician and brilliant.

I would discourage everyone from going to Stony Brook Ophthalmology. I have never had a worse doctors experience in my life. They made me wait 1.5 hours to get into an exam room. They then made me wait another 1.5 hours to see a doctor. This means I waited 3 hours to see the doctor - unacceptable. When I finally saw Doctor Azin Abazari, she was very rushed and rude. She didn't do a complete evaluation or any guidance on my options to improve my Keratoconus. When I received a bill for this service, they charged me for a refraction which my insurance doesn't cover so I didn't receive, and they still charged me for a co-pay even though their service was sub-par. I called them to refute the charges which they said they would - however to my surprise they pushed this to a collection agency. It has been a nightmare. If you want to wait for hours to be seen and have a rude and abusive doctor, then this is the place for you!

Easily the best doctor and best medical experience I have ever had. Dr Abazari, patient, kind and knowledgeable. She made the entire experience of my cataract surgery one that I actually enjoyed. From the beginning, when she took the time to answer my questions thoroughly and thoughtfully and explain the various procedures, through the surgery and then the follow-up, it may sound weird, but I wish she practiced other types of medicine as well!

I waited two hours to see the doctor . Once I entered the room there was no apology. I saw her for under 5 minutes , once my exam was finished I told her it would be nice if she at least apologized to her patients and recognized that they waited TWO HOURS to see her . Her response was “ thank you for the suggestion “ , still no apology or explanation . I am not sure why it has become acceptable for patients to wait 2 hours to see a physician , without any apology or explanation . If she had said she was sorry or there was an emergency it would have been understandable. Clearly she has no regard for her patient’ time .

I saw Dr. Abazari for dry eye. She was so kind & helpful. She answered my questions with patience & I left feeling better. I have followed her instructions & feel much better. I think the world of her & am so happy to have her as my physician.

Dr. Abizari is a very caring, gentle doctor. She did both of my cataract surgeries and did a wonderful job. I recommend her highly.

I first met Dr. Abazari when she treated me for a severe eye hemorrhage & loss of vision. She was on call & treated me with total expertise & care. I believe she saved my vision. I since developed a cataract & could barely see out of my eye. Dr. Abazari did the necessary surgery . Her professional and calm manner put me at ease. The procedure went exactly as she said it would. Dr. Abazari deserves the highest recommendation possible & its my pleasure to do so.
