I Like Dr Fine. The problem is that the general practice to which she belongs is too big and therefore rather impersonal. It took 10 minutes on hold to get to change an appointment and the next available appointment was more than 6 months from now! Seems they are too big. This is not Dr Fine's fault

Dr. Fine has provided wonderful care to my wife, who has glaucoma. She's been attentive, thorough, friendly and courteous, as well as highly professional; following her recommendations, the glaucoma has, at least so far, stabilized well. The corporate setting in which she practices -- Opthalmic Consultants of Boston -- I really can't say much about, as we've never had any bad experiences with them; they just take the bookings and do the other normal office things in a normal way. To be honest, I'm surprised that anyone would give her less than five stars; from reading a couple of the unfavorable reviews it seems like people had bad experiences with the practice as such rather than with her specifically. In any case, we'd give her our absolute highest recommendation; if another family member of ours needed specialized eye care we'd urge that person to go see Dr. Fine immediately. You can't provide a higher recommendation than that.

I hate Dr. Fine. She has a woman named Carla send me harassing letters about appointments. She lied and said that I did not come to my my post op appointment because I walked out. All she did was talk to the woman I was there with as if I did not understand anything or I was there. I was sapose to see another doctor and her assistant wrote another harassing letter saying I never showed. I canceled the appointment well in advance and obviously no one at scheduling listens to their voice mail . In this letter she said I had another issue that she or no one else told me about. If she is no longer my doctor, why is she sending me letters.? I have never met someone who is desperate for attention.

Dr. Laura Fine is gentle, kind and patient. As an eye phobic, I freak out when anyone gets near my eyes. Dr. Laura Fine finds various ways to work with me to get all the testing done. I had Narrow Angle Glaucoma and needed laser surgery to re-open the almost closed angles, to prevent the pressure from building up on my eyes. Dr. Fine got me through, and I had the surgery. My Glaucoma has not returned and I am doing great. Dr. Fine has even got me to accept her assistants by showing them how to work with me.I am so appreciative.

I've seen Dr. Fine for several years after learning of her excellent reputation and her specialties. As well as thorough, she has been friendly, warm, and good about answering questions. I've also appreciated her offering related, helpful, educational hand-outs from her files--even about my eye conditions being treated by ophthalmologists in other specialties. The previous one star given to Dr. Fine because of a problem making an appointment would seem better placed in a review of Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston. Though, in the many years I've seen several excellent specialists there, I've never experienced any form of negligence or lack of care from their doctors or staff.

Dr. Fine is, herself, excellent -- both in knowledge and in manner. THE PRACTICE IS ABSURD. I developed pain in my eye and could not reach a doctor. I stayed on hold listening to recordings of how wonderfully attentive the practice is to its patients ... and was unable to reach a doctor. I will never use this practice again.

I receive excellent medical care with Dr. Laura Fine. She is one in a million. She has a great combination of knowledge, experience and confidence with a highly developed ability to listen and communicate clearly. She has empathy and takes the time to answer my questions and thoroughly explain her recommendations. My laser and surgical procedures (along with pre- and post- care) have gone beautifully. I can feel Dr. Fine’s honesty and commitment to her profession and to her goals for my vision. I recommend Dr. Fine and her team enthusiastically and without reservation!

Dr Fine us the best ophthalmologist I have been treated by in more than 60 years. She is conscious, concerned, and thorough. When I had an emergency, she offered to return to her office to see me regardless of the time I was able to travel the 300 miles from my home. As well she has a wonderful personalized manner. I highly recommend Dr Fine.

Dr Fine explains what she is doing, her treatment plans and my current status clearly and effectively without prompting; she always has time for questions. Her team members are friendly, courteous, and helpful. I travel 300 miles each way, weekly, to see her and will continue to do so as long as she tells me it is best for my recovery. In an emergency she offered to see me late at night when I had to return to Boston. I have utmost confidence in her and would go nowhere else for my treatment.

Dr. Fine has given me excellent glaucoma treatment but I did not get a good result from a cataract surgery she performed. Also OCB (Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston) is a very greedy practice. It is run like a factory resulting in outrageous wait times and rushed visits with the ophthalmologists.
