List of Lynne J Goldberg's Reviews
terrible! She has the skills, but is inaccessible, especially if you have problems. Ageist as well.
Dr. Goldberg's "celebrity Doc" status adversely impacts her abilities as a clinician. She's often overbooked and left leaving her patients to wait for hours. Her smugness and bedside manner leaves patients feeling unsupported.
I waited months to see her after another doctor sent my biopsy to her for pathology. Dr. Goldberg's pathology report diagnosed me with a rare, painful and disfiguring disease. Original doctor said that my clinical presentation and Dr. Goldberg's pathology report did not match and that she could not ethically treat me for a disease that she didn't think I had. She called Dr. Goldberg who stood by her findings and told me to go see Dr. Goldberg. After the long wait when I saw Dr. Goldberg she said that she agreed that I did not have this disease. Imagine thinking you had a horrible disease and have to wait all that time to find out by Dr. Goldberg that she didn't stand by her pathology report. She offered no treatment or different diagnosis and told me she's see me in 6 months. During that time my condition worsened and I called to try to get in earlier and was told no. At that 6 month appointment she dismisserd my concerns, and told me to basically deal with it. She took 2 more biopsy's that day. When she called with the results she said that she was "surprised" and that the results from the 2 sites were completely reversed from what she expected. Told me that "it was possible that that the samples were swapped" "but I don't think so" and then said "let's go with these." 3 biospy's and no diagnosis and no treatment plan. She wants to take a "wait and see approach" and that she'd see me in 3 months. Unacceptable. Run. Don't walk, run and find a competent medical professional who will actually offer recommendations and treatment for your health concern.
Waited a whole year to see her because she was highly recommended. Bedside manner is awful. Immediately told me IUD was not the problem and didn’t think my problem was grave. I pushed for a biopsy which she didn’t think it would reveal anything. Her assistant called three weeks later with a diagnosis of androgenic alopecia. Did not offer options nor follow up.
Dr. Goldberg and her staff DO NOT function well in a crisis. If you struggle with hair loss, especially CCCA, she's great for an initial diagnosis. However, I would not recommend her for long-term care. I'm surprised she hasn't had any malpractice charges brought against her. Do yourself a favor and find someone else.
I have been seeing Dr. Goldberg for many years now. She was the first dermatologist to diagnose my problem and provided me the correct medicine to help me. She changes up my dose to ween me off certain medicines. Without her expertise, I feel I'd still be looking for help.
Terrible experience! I saw Dr. Goldberg hoping she would help provide treatment options for my hair loss after having been diagnosed with Alopecia Areata by my previous dermatologist. I was told by Dr. Goldberg that maybe my hair wasn't as full as before but that many people would love to have the amount of hair I had. To my horror, she went on to say that instead i should focus on clearing the marks on my face (acne hyperpigmentation). I have never felt so hurt and disrespected by a doctor.
We brought our 13 year old son to discuss early onset alopecia. We were very concerned because of possible psychological morbidity in the future. She said he had androgenic alopecia and asked if it bothered him. When he said no, she wanted to know which parent it bothered. . She basically downplayed it and was very short and dismissive with her responses. She is better suited to working in research behind a bench rather than in front of patients.
She is great! Took scalp biopsies to get an actual diagnosis. Listens to you and she is reassuring. Her team was excellent as well. All very caring. It takes some time to get an appointment but do call for cancellations. Highly recommended especially for hair loss concerns. She will figure out what is going on. My iron levels also were low so on supplements to help this. She was seen for a 2nd opinion however I wish I went to her first!
Dr. Goldberg is highly experienced with hair loss. She will be honest with you and look at your follicles and will tell you what is clinically proven for treatment options. She makes you feel like you will be okay! Brought a huge list of questions and she was reading off my list before I even got to them! Go see her if you have any concerns about hairloss even if you received other Derms diagnosis! She is worth it!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
