My Audiology and ENT appointments are often cascaded this way I reduce the number of trips to the city (I live 25 miles away). The staff is very good at setting these cascading appointments up and the services are punctual. The testing and follow up discussions are professional, informative and upbeat! Diagnoses are complete detailed and resolution (surgery and/or devices etc) is always professionally delivered. Couldn't be happier!
Absolutely horrible wait times in the ER.
I’ve been going here for three years now and getting good advice from my doctor. When I finally had surgery, I could not have had a better experience. The team here is outstanding. Every single nurse in this hospital is as kind and as proficient in their field as anyone could be. The doctors are wonderful, but everyone who has been in the hospital for any length of time knows that you see the nurses and the nurse aids the most frequently. They and they support staff are the people who make this hospital they wonderful place that it is. Thank you so much for being here.
I've had great experiences with the eye doctors but a 10 minute appointment here usually takes 1-2 hours. They're critically understaffed and over scheduled. Arrived 20 minutes early, ended up waiting another 2 hours all for 5 minutes of tests, and 5 minutes with the doctor. They were so far behind that there wasn't anyone left at reception to check me out. 2 stars for good care when I finally get it, but after 3 times with the same experience I know that I'll be wasting an entire afternoon for my yearly follow ups.
The physician directory needs updating. My PCP is not listed; however a Google search shows her at Centre St, Newton which is closed or 75 Francis St which is incorrect.
Mass Eye & Ear truly lived up to their world class expectations. Special touches were: the Chaplin walking around talking to parents and kids while they waited, extensive playrooms, and the KINDEST and chillest team of care professionals. They really made what could have been a stressful situation very grounding. Extra shout out to Dr. Namiranian for coming in on her day off for our son and a couple of other kiddos that needed the surgery sooner than the schedule allowed for booking. Alyssa at Dr. Namiranian was also so kind, patient, timely in responses, and thorough. The intake floor at Mass Eye & Ear became our son’s playground and he made himself very comfortable crawling around to say 👋 to everyone waiting for surgery and was quite comfortable lunging at nurses for hugs and tours around the ward. He partied right up until heading into the OR and only had about 15mins of confusion post-op. He has some healing to do, but we are truly thankful and blessed. 🙏 THANK YOU, Mass Eye & Ear!
I only had the long first appointment, where all the pre-testing for the operations is done. It was so traumatic I went to a different practice--MEEI was that poor. I knew a switch meant multiple month's more wait, but I had to do it. On my day at MEEI the waits were horrendous between each stage horrendous between each stage, with no warning. not just in starting, but between each stages. But much, much worse, the priority is on teaching the students. Instead of interacting with me at all, my doctor spoke entirely to her student. I don't know if she would then have involved the student with my operation instead of doing it all herself, which was what I wanted. Anyway, beware the word "teaching." While I was there, nothing was explained to me, the patient. And I got more and more too exhausted to process what was happening they rushed me thru. And thus I did have a lot of questions later, ones that showed I deserved an answer. But the doctor ignored my questions on the patient portal. She had an icy-cold dragon-lady helper, who reads all her mail, so I didn't even knnow if the doctor saw my messages. Overall, no courtesy was shown. But IMPORTANT the thing to know is you can get the completely opposite experience a few blocks away, at Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston. There you are the priorty, as patients should be. And every person I have encountered so far, from phone help to doctor, has been kind, well informed, helpful, with 100% attn. And mature, regardless of actuual age. When I report my lousy treatment at MEEI, people say well, it's a teaching hospital. Does that mean we get the trainee care with multiple hands just learning how to do things? During the most important test before I saw the doctor, people kept rushing the technician. This made me nervous and she had to repeat the tests to be sure the results were right. And then, I was aghast when some young man tried to just burst in past the closed door. Of course we had to re-do more of it. I was in tears by the time I landed the doctor, who was busy, so I waited another 15 minutes in the doctor's chair and could dry my tears. But since when are you allowed to be rude and thoughtless just because you are a student? I am handicapped and elderly, and need a team I can believe in and trust. Butoesn't everyone? I came away from MEEI, after 5 mos wait, totally disappointed. I then had to wait some months to get in to see Dr Rapoza at OCB, but it was well worth the wait. I know he will do everything himself, and is even upfront about little things, like in telling you how much $ he will get from a certain procedure he recommends [$15]. He was just as honest and accurate about the risks, even going over them more than once when we spoke, telling me slowly. The MEEI doc, by contrast, just glossed over it all in about 3 words at the end, before she put the release under my nose. All practices should be like OMB. But after the MEEI experience, during the many fewer hours at OMB [tiny delays], I was agog, on Cloud 9, thrilled. And the funny thing was that they were puzzled I was so thrilled. They said, Of course we're nice! And your doctor will do everything himself! And he's done 40,000 of my operations. He is simply everything a doctor should be. Don't be fooled by the fame of MEEI. It is for its rather insolent students' benefit, not yours.
This is about the Hearing Center in Wellesley. Dr Sarah Hesseltine is an excellent audiologist, but the Hearing Center is a ripoff and a thief. Cost of aid $784. Not too awful. Then there are the FEES. Fitting fee $240, dispensing fee $330, conformity evaluation $90, electroacoutstic evaluation of hearing aid $60. Total fees $720. Total cost $1,504. Okay, my hearing is bad, but I do know when I am being robbed.
I am a patient. There is something going on with my eye after 3 years old cataract surgery. Calling for week, finally got through. Was told that somebody would call me back . Another week is passing by. What happened to customer service?
Absolutely clueless staff working here! They will keep you on the phone for 40 mins, only to tell you they have an appointment 60 days out ! Most staff don’t know answers to common questions and need to discuss everything with each other

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
