My surgery was done by Dr. Al-Mefty in Little Rock. I am a nurse and have NEVER encountered a Surgeon like him before. Not only is he a world renowned and highly skilled surgeon but is such a beautiful human. When every other Dr. Said my huge tumor was inoperable, Dr. Almefty said he could get it out. He successfully removed my tumor 100% and took care of my mind, body and soul. He treated every aspect of my needs and was so kind and conciderate to my husband and children. He is amazing.

Dr. Al-Mefty removed a large and difficult Meningioma in September, 2014. He is a wonderful surgeon and very caring person. My experience with him and everyone at Brigham and Women's was outstanding. I flew into Boston on a Saturday and Dr. Al-Mefty met me and my sister (with another sister on speaker phone) and patiently reviewed the procedure and answered all our questions over a period of two hours on Sunday morning! We were so impressed by his talent and his care.

Had a rare brain base tumor removed recently. Heard on numerous occasions he is probably the best neurosurgeon in this country and we feel blessed that he took on the resection of tumor. Entire staff at BWH are exceptional.

His surgery skills are unmatched. My tumor was in a very difficult location to remove, and likely could have caused me serious complications afterwards. He got it all, and even though the surgery was 14 hours, I was back to work part time in three weeks.

I am blessed to have been referred to Dr. Al-Mefty in 2008 for my second surgery for a recurrent Tuberculum Sella Meningioma. The surgeon who performed my first surgery 11 years prior knew the surgery was beyond his capability and told me my best chance was with Al-Mefty. His surgical skills saved my vision and maybe my life. His nurses and assistants were top notch as well. His clerical staff was very poor but he is at a different hospital now so maybe that is better. Be patient...you are not taking your car in for a tune-up. This is your BRAIN! He knows what he is doing.

Saw Dr. Al-Mefty and he seemed baffled by my husbands condition. Ordered MRI's, etc. We never got the results or heard from him again. When we called his office, his help would say he was out of the country. If he ever read our test, we never got any results. Ended up having to look for another doctor. I did not have any results from the doctor- wasted trip to Little Rock and waste of our time. I would not recommend him at all.
