Dr. Thieu's bed side manner was awful. I have seen her twice (both times with a resident and med student in the room) and both times she gave me extremely short, one word, emotionless answers. Did not make me feel comfortable or explain anything beyond a one word response.

I had such a horrible experience I feel obligated to leave a review. I canceled my follow-up appointment with her and refuse to see her again. This was a few years ago but I am still upset and do not know how much she could have changed. Dr. Thao Thieu... - Started the appointment with the door open, asking me to discuss my confidential private medical information in front of a busy hallway and an observational student she did not even acknowledge was shadowing her, let alone ask if I consented to. She acted like it was weird that I asked for the student to leave my gynecology appointment. - Waited until mid pelvic exam to ask me if I had ever been assaulted, as though I could not possibly be uncomfortable due to any other reason, such as her beside manner, and must have been assaulted if I was uncomfortable during a GYN appointment. - Argued with me back and forth for several minutes about my pharmacy name and location because she did not read past the first Google result and thought I was wrong about where my pharmacy was. This is small but it was at the end of an appointment throughout which Dr. Thieu made it clear she did not care about my comfort as her patient and evidently did not think I would be correct. I have had routine ob/gyn appointments for 10+ years and have never, ever, evern been so uncomfortable.

I don’t understand those who rated her one star. Her bedside manner is amazing and she has a rare comic trait that few doctors I have seen have She is genuine, relatable, hysterical and most importantly very knowledgeable. I look forward to seeing her every time and HIGHLY recommend her to others!

I love Dr. Thieu. She was my OBGYN 10 years ago and delivered my daughter. I am expecting again, and was so happy to learn that she is still practicing at Tufts. I enjoy my appointments with her. I recommended my best friend who is also expecting to Tufts, and coincidentally, Dr. Thieu is her doctor as well.
