List of Kevin Charpentier's Reviews
My experience with Dr Kevin Charpentier was life saving !! Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer was life changing to my wife and I . I had just recently turned 62 and was diagnosed . I met Dr Charpentier at Miriam hospital where he drew on paper what the procedure would be never looking down to see what he was drawing . Dr Charpentier is the most professional trusted surgeon I have ever met. I could go on and on but I'm cancer free 2 years and I will be forever in his debt.
Doctor was 45 minutes late for appointment and provided no reason apology or acknowledgement. Visit was 5 minutes in total and when examined and stated I was in pain the doctor rolled his eyes and said there should be none as if I was lying. Waste of time as there was no diagnosis or suggestions on what may be wrong just sent to receptionist to set up scan to ensure doctor does not need to complete surgery. Totally non compassionate and cold.
EXCELLENT!!!!
Dr Charpentier was my surgeon at RI Hospital a year ago. He has a reputation as a good surgeon. But He can be condescending and dismissive when you ask legitimate questions. I have a 7 inch vertical keloid scar that is very painful. I’ve had other surgery and keloids have not developed. 2 surgeons ( nyc and Boston) said Charpentier did not attach the skin correctly and that he removed my gall bladder “for nothing)! I have to undergo a surgical scar revision at Mass General to fix his work.
I suffered from a case of acute pancreatitis. Dr. Charpentier never once lead me astray in his diagnosis. My case involved several complications that deemed in nearly impossible to predict when I would return to "normal" health as a result he didn't give a time frame other than to say it's going to be a long recovery, and it was. However, on one visit he did finally give a time frame for when I would finally start to feel well and he was absolutely correct. I have complete confidence in Dr. C.
Get a second opinion. This Dr. is not as good as he thinks he is.
Waited 3 hours in pre,-op, never talked to me after operation, slope to my wife. Charpentier sent a assistant to speak to me after surgery. Waited over 45 minutes for a post -op exam in waiting, than 15 minutes in exam room. He spent 3 to 5 minutes with me for an exam. Did not even walk me back to his secretary was ahead of me and gone to the patitient when I reached his secretary. There are better in R.I. or near by Mass.
Over 2 hours to see him, with an appointment
Get a second opinion before doing surgery with him. He was very confident and optimistic going into my father's surgery to remove a tumor only to come out and tell us it was no longer operable. He gave my father an 80% chance of getting this tumor out before going into surgery. He washed his hands of us after that. Gave us no hope or direction. He completely let us down. My father died 6 days later due to septic shock after surgery with Dr. Charpentier.
He gave my family extremely high hopes of removing my father's cancer. Only to let us down completely after going in and not being able to remove what he promised. He gave us an 80% chance of being able to remove the tumor and was very confident prior to going into surgery. We were completely blindsided when things did not go as expected. He completely let us down, and washed his hands of us after that. My father died of septic shock 2 weeks later. Don't believe everything this Dr. tells you.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
