List of Patricia Jay's Reviews
I am a patient of Dr. Jay's and I could not be happier. I am menopausal and my current PC didn't listen or offer any help. Dr.Jay not only listened to but, offered real solutions. I feel greatful to have found her.
I saw Dr Jay 2x in my late 40's. She spent the whole time telling me that I was old and that everything was going down hill for me, even though I'm a fit, healthy woman who looks and feels years younger. It was like she was projecting her own issues about aging. She made me feel ashamed about going through peri-menopause. She was part of Visions at the time, which seemed kind of creepy and cult like, instead of the integrative medical place they claimed to be. Do not see her. It took me a while to shake off the bad experience and I even went 2x to make sure it wasn't just a bad day-- she was worse the second time.
I never leave reviews but feel very compelled to warn other women trying to get birth control. I am from out of state and Dr. Jay is literally the only OBGYN in my network that takes my insurance. She does not believe in birth control and refuses to prescribe any pills or insert IUDs due to her faith. She gives lectures about family planning and condoms that come off very judgmental. This is extremely unprofessional and genuinely confuses me as to why she is in this field if she is not going to help women and decides herself what is best for their bodies and sex lives.
great MD who thinks of the whole person and is very attentive
I do not recommend Dr. Jay, she is rude, condescending, doesn't explain anything unless you ask the right questions, doesn't seem to know enough about women's health care in my opinion.
I would not recommend her. She has a bad attitude, does not explain anything, and does not provide adequate health care.
I saw this doctor when she still worked in Southborough Massachusetts she was horrible not once did she ever listen to me. She was very judgmental and said nothing was wrong with me I just had a very low pain tolerance. Which has never been the case! I had to beg in plead with her to do a surgery to confirm I had endometriosis. She told me I was too young there was no way I had this. So months went by of her changing my birth control pills saying o this one will be better. As my pain got worse I had to bring my mother in to convince this lady that she needed to do more and I needed the surgery. She finally agreed and well surprise to her only I had endometriosis in fact my appendix was coated in it as well. She did a horrible job in the surgery leaving my appendix still in! After that surgery I never went back to her! She is the reason when I am going to the doctors I just shut down with anxiety she made me feel horrible when my body was already doing that on it’s own.
Not only does she not prescribe hormonal birth control, she will not prescribe the copper IUD. Her office does NOT make this clear before the appointment and I had no idea (I did not see her bio on this website beforehand). In addition, I found Dr. Jay to have a judgemental attitude, and when I received a positive STI result for the first time in my life, her response was, verbatim, "No surprises there". I'm not one to be shaken by docs, or write reviews. Just wanted to offer this up.
Other than her interest in functional medicine, I cannot stress how unethical, judgemental, and unprofessional Dr. Jay was. I found it extremely unprofessional that I was not notified by her/her office before I saw her that she does not prescribe birth control other than condoms or diaphrams. Though the other doctor in the office does, and she offered for me to see her for the insertion of an IUD, I was still very put off and feel this information is important to divulge to patients BEFORE they are seen. In addition, after receiving a positive STI result for the first time in my life, Dr. Jay's comment over the phone was "No surprises there". I have never felt so demeaned and judged by a practitioner before. This was my first and last appointment with her. Please be warned. (I so rarely ever post reviews like these but I really don't want someone else to have to go through this. I tend to have a thick skin with doctor's and she really put me off)
Who ever is interested in and willing to explore and understand gynecological issues more holistic way, is in the right place with doctor Jay! She does not focus on only the problem but also the reason behind it. Even on my first visit I experienced a very nice combination of western medicine and holistic / alternative point of view. Thank you!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
