In 2008 Dr. Gruenberg spent almost 3 hours with me pressuring me to undergo chemo for breast cancer. He offered survival percentages with and without chemo.I happen to be in my surgeon's office and told them about the long visit. My surgeon asked if Gruenberg had ordered an Onco-Type test which determines if chemo would be effective in my kind of cancer. The surgeon's office was confused that he did not. They told me to contact him. I called Gruenberg and asked him about the Onco-Type test. He became furious, saying I could not accept I had cancer. He sounded out of control and hung up on me.My surgeon ordered the Onco-Type test. The test indicated I would have "0" that is zero benefit from chemo. Gruenberg would have cost me $80,000 and, 6 months of grief and illness. This Dr. is a smooth operator. He played the REAL NICE GUY to get me to sign up for chemo. The worst part, is he plays on your fear and concerns. He just lied.

Re: Dr. Gruenberg From: Family of Margarita PleshakovaWe are writing this letter to express our sincere appreciation to Dr. Gruenberg. He helped us enormously in all matters during his time with us. He worked very hard to make sure that my sister was getting the service/treatment she needed. He went out of their way to help her and even though I am sure that he handles many cases, he treated her with personal attention. This is the part of our experience with him that we most enjoyed. Margarita did not feel like a number, but felt like a valued patient. We would like to thank him very much for the assistance and advice, and especially for taking the time to explain things to us. He did his best to make sure that her needs and desires were met. We really appreciate the fact that he was fast to respond when she needed assistance, explanations and clarifications. He went above and beyond to help her as much as it was possible in this case. We truly appreciate the professionalism and courtesy he displayed. If it wasn't for Dr. Gruenberg we might have completely lost hope in the hospital system but now we know that there are people who truly care and will do what ever possible to help.
