Very very difficult to get someone to answer the phone!! They do not respond to faxes either

Dr Travassos has been our gastroenterologist for years. He found what other drs couldn’t explain and performed surgery for my husband. His medical skills are excellent, he also strikes a good balance between personable and professional.

Does not return phone calls to set up appointments. Not sure how they stay in business. When calling I was put on hold and waited, eventually you are directed to a voice mailbox that is often full. Once I called and the voice mail was not full and I left a message but no one called me back. Finally gave up and found a different provider. Would hate to be waiting for results and have this happen. When I asked the office of my primary to send records to the new provider I was told other patients have complained. I would avoid this business.

My experience with there office has not been a good one.i had a ct done oct.30 2020.after numerous calls and nearly 2 months later they told me he wanted to do another ct. Didnt hear back .so i called mass. General. Should have called them 3 months ago.have found out more in 3 weeks than i did in 3 months.too much to mention.dont waste your valuable time wth them.thats all i can say

Dr. Travassos asks all the right questions o understand what you are experiencing and feeling. He answers all your queries in plain terms. Definitely has your best interests at heart. His staff is wonderful.

Dr. Travassos is an excellent gastroenterologist. He always takes the time to carefully listen to the issues, sets up any diagnostic testing as soon as it’s available and offers whatever is necessary for treatment modalities. He is very knowledgeable, kind, compassionate and thorough. He has always been available whenever I needed him. I recommend him without reservation!

Excellent! Dr. Travassos was VERY thorough and friendly. He spent a lot of time with me and was very conversational, which is not normally the case with physicians. My first impression was very favorable. It gives me confidence moving forward with some unpleasant tests.

I was in an emergency situation, bleeding internally, but unknown site. Multiple blog I d transfusions..in comes Dr. Travassos...thank goodness!! He performed an endoscopy, then stated where he thought the problem was..He was 100% right..performed the procedure and I'm on my way to full recovery. I feel blessed to have this fine doctor on my side! OUTSTANDING bedside manner.

The Dr. is wonderful, but I can't get a call back from the office....

This is the worst doctors office I’ve ever been to. Dr travassos seems nice and knowledgeable at first, but every time I went in to see him I was told to arrive fifteen minutes early, only to sometimes wait up to an HOUR to see him. He and his office never call back with results when they say they’re going to, and he seems to think all patients need a blanket treatment that will solve all of your digestive symptoms. Humira was the worst drug for me to go on and he continually insisted upon it. When I started reacting poorly and flaring up from both that and overuse of antibiotics my health rapidly declined. As a result, I was deferred to his nurse practitioner and the nasty and rude medical assistant named Sarah, who’s been continually short with me over the phone. I even had to complain to the office manager about her attitude. The nurse practitioner also seemed nice but recommended a test for me that my insurance wouldn’t cover and ended up having to pay $2,500 out of pocket for! Furthermore, I was supposed to receive a call back with results the following week and didn’t receive them even up to a month later. I still don’t know the results and filed a grievance with them through my insurance company. Needless to say I switched GI doctors to Dr Rao in north Chelmsford, who is much more patient, attentive and actually takes nutrition seriously. I will stick with her, since she is both knowledgeable and has a very friendly office staff who never hesitates to call me back, even on short notice. They also check to see whether or not your insurance will cover a procedure. What a novel concept! The moral of the story: stay far away from digestive health specialists! They have poor reviews for a reason.
