List of Achilles Alcaraz's Reviews
Office canceled my 81 year old grandmothers appt leaving her with needing a refill on anxiety and depression meds. they told me to take her to urgent care (DURING ANOTHER PEAK OF COVID) due to not having an appt until the following week (LAST APPT WAS 4 MONTHS PRIOR)...made another appt with NP bc that answer was unacceptable, only to find out the dr was going to cancel her appt that the office rescheduled her bc he wasn't even going to be in the office. ALSO it took 2 weeks for them to refill calcium. When you call the office the girls are talking and laughing like they can't even be bothered. I would leave 0 stars if I could. Negligence at it's finest.
Every time I need to see him never an opening have to go to the walk-in doesn’t prescribe the medicine needed for cholesterol made me wait two years. When I want a urinalysis redone I have to make an appointment. He won’t just make out lab order so I can get it done. Then he might need to see me if it’s positive.
Amazing Doctor. Amazing person. Really cares about people and his patients. Asks about your family, listens to your concerns. Makes you feel comfortable and not worry about anything. Wish all doctors were like this.
Excellent doctor. He is the doctor of my mother Alba. He is excellent. He takes time. He calls you with the test results. A lot of doctors do not call you. He is on top of my mother's care. We drive a lot of milles to see him. His secretary is very diligent too. She makes sure when I call to give the messages to him. She is very polite and a hard worker. Great team!!
Great guy and nice doctor, actually cares if anything is troubling you. Very professional, too.
While I actually found Dr. Alcaraz quite wonderful as a human. I met him once to see if I could be on board with him as a new PCP for me. He could have been a good doctor, but I will never know. The Medical group itself is horrible. I worked hard to ensure records for my complex medical needs were sent there, as well as filling out their forms in advance and mailing them. They had nothing. I waited 48 mins to see the doctor to find out they knew nothing about me. Then spent 10 minutes with him before he left. And even though it is steward the same network as my former PCP. I had to sign onto my own personal patient portal on my phone to give them info, etc. Then was offered a vaccine they didn't have. So all and all I won't be returning there and Hawthorn medical group is really only for people who are ok being treated like a number, not an individual. I was very disappointed.
Waited 48 minutes, then met with him for 10 minutes, They had ZERO information that I had sent and doctors had sent. And even though two of those doctors were also steward at other sites there is no EMR connection so they can't even see anything. So I had to sign into my patient portal to pull up recent details to share with the nurse. Poor Doctor walked into my physical (with my complex medical conditions) blind. The entire practice feels like a hospital/ patient factory. The waiting rooms are really like a hospital, larger than some hospitals I have been in. I did not feel like a human being provided care. I felt like a number. He maybe a wonderful person and doctor, but it will be impossible to ever know. As who could get enough time with him to find out. Add to that his staff not having anything prepared for him is really doing him a disservice as well as me. It would have taken their administrative staff or his nurse 1 minute to see nothing was in the record for me and let me know in advance they had nothing. As opposed to me spending an hour and a half for no reason. I hope he does read reviews so his skills could be used in a practice that is better than the one he is a part of.
Dr.Alcatraz is a great doctor I see a lot of doctors and I'm picky he listened to me and has a good bedside Manor
Went to him for a year. Every time that I went I waited forever and he was completely rude the entire time. Every time I went he insisted on a blood test which I would receive 3 separate bills for and make me come to a follow up appointment a month later. As a healthy 26 year old I questioned the constant blood tests at my last appointment. He got aggressive with me and said take the blood test or leave. I took the test. 2 days later I got a call saying he wouldn't see me anymore and I need to schedule with a new Dr. because he felt I didn't trust him... He just wants your money and if you ask questions you're gone. Criminal waste of my time.
Dr Alcaraz is my primary care physician and I feel very lucky to have him, he is compassionate and knowledgeable. I feel like he truly cares about me and I am comfortable discussing personal matters with him.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
