Dr. Patel is my assigned PCP through my new insurance. He was kind, competent, and professional. Plus, I was able to get an appointment in quickly, and he uses an online portal for a lot of care management, including telehealth appointments, which is really helpful! Definitely recommend.

Overall I think Dr. Patel is a great doctor and human. However he’s not immune to the societal ills that plague our healthcare system. As a black patient I’ve run into many issues with providers— sadly this was one of the worst ones. I had a medical concern that was placated, and was written off as just “angry” and “upset” when I expressed my disappointment and displeasure with how my concern was addressed. Rather than seek to understand, the Doctor gaslighted me and weaponized “red tape” to discourage me from reaching out regarding my medical concern. I was told I was just upset that he didn’t do what I requested, when that couldn’t have been further from the truth. I encourage folks to use caution when sharing medical concerns that are counter to “dominant medical discourse” at this practice.
