My mom, Jill, passed very recently while staying at this wonderful facility. While she was there only for a short time I can't begin to say how kind and caring all of the staff are, not just for mom but for my dad, my brother, and I as well. The level of comfort and love they gave was exceptional and words are nowhere near enough. The center is beautifully maintained and a serene place to be, a perfect substitution for home.

I would like to thank the amazing staff from bottom to top for loving my friend Joanie in the time she was in your care at the McCarthy Care Center. You helped honor her wishes. How fortunate to have such a gem to help people that may not be able to be in their home in the end of this earthly life. This top notch facility shows from how clean, comfortable and comforting it is. Grateful, is not nearly enough. Bless you all

I have the echo a lot of these comments. My mother was here for care. They took such good care of her and made sure that the family did not need anything while visiting. They care for the patient in the family I feel goes beyond the call of duty.

If you ever find yourself needing a hospice care center for your loved one look no further. My brother was at this place with the most exceptional care I've ever seen. They were also as much there for me and my family as they were for him. From the moment I walked in the door the staff greeted us and treated us like family. The facility is quiet, clean and beautiful. They attended to every single one of his needs as well as ours. They were always up front with us. They always bathed him cleaned him up make sure he was comfortable. It was all about his comfort and being pain-free when he passed. Which he definitely was and I can't thank them enough. After my brother passed and we checked out the staff all gave us hugs and greeted us and gave us condolences. And then a week later in the mail they had sent these little personal beautiful cards with different cute pictures and a beautiful message. My brother's fingerprint on them which was very special and thoughtful. So if you have the means to get your loved one here I would highly recommend it. Also if anybody has any questions I can email me as well.

I cannot say enough about McCarthy Care Center. If you are lucky enough to have a loved one placed in this facility you are indeed blessed. The Staff is amazing with its continuous tender, loving care. You could not ask for better.

The people here were so great to my papa during his remaining time on earth they would ask us if we need anything they would always talk to him and tell him what they were doing they were the easiest and nice people to talk to they became family in a snap of a finger and I couldn’t thank them enough for everything you guys did to make my papa comfortable before he passed I was so blessed he got to pass in a place that felt like home thank you guys for everything god bless all you guys.

In 2004 my father was dying of lung cancer, I did all I could do taking a leave from work for months caring for him. Not being a nurse it got to a point he needed better than me. We got the call and a room at the McCarthy Care Center. A beautiful facility full of beautiful people who took exceptional care of my dad & of us. Exceptional end of life care. Very grateful.

5/11/22 Dear MCC Staff, We had three options as it became clear that our son Todd was approaching the end of his life. One was the hospital and we knew what to expect, limited options and limited visitation if any at all. The other option was to stay home which was preferable, but we no longer had the ability to keep Todd comfortable. The third option was the McCarthy Care Center and we admit there was trepidation since we were not entirely familiar with the program. As we entered palliative care with the VNA, it was suggested that we tour the facility. What we found was a friendly and clean environment that was entirely focused on patient and family comfort. We had reached the point where a decision needed to be made, and Todd was very clear on his intentions. His body was shutting down and the pain had spread throughout. We arranged for transport, packed our bags and headed over to the facility less than ten minutes from our home. We were greeted by staff and settled into room #1. Another overview of the facility was given and we were afforded time to simply acclimate to our new surroundings. The following evening we met with the doctor to formulate a plan for Todd. The level of love and concern for Todd and our family was comforting and refreshing. The decision was to begin sedation Friday afternoon. This would lead to taking Todd off the vent and putting him on supplemental oxygen. In the interim a pain pump was placed to keep Todd comfortable. All of us had a chance to spend time with Todd one-on-one. That included his caregivers and closest friends. There were no restrictions! People could come and go 24/7, including pets! We were able to stay with Todd for the duration of our visit. We were not accustomed to this type of treatment and having a lifetime of experience with all types of facilities, this was heaven on earth for us. Todd was visited by a Catholic priest that performed the sacrament of the anointing of the sick. This moment was so precious because Todd was responsive and said the right things at the right times. He was also visited by an inter-denominational pastor that offered comfort in prayer. The support staff from the nurses to the attendants were attentive, comforting, accommodating and unobtrusive. We are so thankful that they allowed us to put our hands on Todd for all of his personal care needs in the final days of his life; that meant so much to us. In short, we, Todd included, could not have hoped for better circumstances than what we experienced at the McCarthy Care Center. His departure was managed perfectly, allowing family and friends time with him while he was cognizant and able to communicate, and comfort from pain while he slowly fell into a sleep state. His vitals were monitored closely until his last breath with family surrounding him with music and reassuring words of love and encouragement. It was indeed a beautiful experience made possible by the staff of the McCarthy Care Center. Enough cannot be said about that because the staff are clearly what makes the facility so special. Thank you for letting Todd depart in comfort and dignity. All of you played an integral part in Todd's final moments and we will always remember that. The mission and spirit of the McCarthy Care Center lives within all of you, and you most definitely met and surpassed those goals during our short stay.
