Absolutely WORST Service in the city...the girls there on the desk have no idea what they are doing..Absolutely Awful
Very unprofessional and sympathetic! Called for emergency appointment for something in my eye and was given an appointment. Drove all the way there and was told that new secretary made a mistake and they couldn't take me because they can't open an account on Saturday despite me being fully insured and in need and medical attention. Very unprofessional and lack of concern for patients well being. Very disappointed with the lack of office knowledge and concern for people's well being.
Very nice staff and fast without cutting corners. Dr Aguiar seems to know exactly what he is doing and offers good advice The frames wait time is a bit long so if you need them urgently you may need to look elsewhere but again the Dr and ladies in reception do the very best
Unprofessional visit. It was a let down for us. Detailed description below.....I had made an appointment for my oldest daughter (14.5), who, I know wears glasses but I had been procrastinating (due work, other children, life I guess) on scheduling an appointment to recheck her eyes, and she had been complaining her vision was getting worse over course of time. She has always been very mature for her age and has a very good head on her shoulders. During the exam, he was very condridicting. He would ask her if she could see the letters, she'd say no, he'd say try, she say again it's just blurry, he'd guide her, she guess through a few, get it right with his guidance, he say "Yep. That's a G." The exam continued on like this, which I was finding very strange, but figured he was the Dr, he knows what he's doing. After all that, I'm thinking she's going to end up with these really thick glasses (I have no problems with my vision, so I'm not familiar with what it's like to "not be able to see something".) As he concluded the eye exam, he said he "tricked her" as he inserted a pencil through the hole where a lens would have been and stated "This was empty, no lens here, you have great vision." I was baffled. Now, the waywhe had been approaching this exam was making sense. Why on Earth would you do this?! She is not a young child. My daughter, who was clearly insulted, also, could not believe this was happening. I continued on to ask him why he would even do this, when I heard her over and over again say she couldn't see so many of the letters? He stated he "Sees this all the time. From small children, to older children. They ''just want glasses' ". Again, my daughter is very mature for her age, and is certainly not an attention seeker. I politely let him know, I felt he had a pre existing notion in his mind, and just tried to fulfill that image. And this was not a professional visit. He followed me to check out counter saying how people come all the way from RI to see him because he is not quick to write prescriptions. I can respect that, but my daughter, who has been waiting for this eye exam, deserved a professional exam and not to be treated as if she was "lying" and needed to be 'tricked' into 'proving' this concept. As my daughter walked in the waiting room, holding back her tears, he turned to me in a whisper and said "I think she just doesn't like school." What?! My daughter goes to a vocational high school, excellent grades and remains excited to grow and prosper. At this point, I decided NOT to make a yearly appointment there and it was a great conversation with my daughter about how she will come across doctors like this, who will not make you feel heard or respected. I am sorry for my daughter that she had waited this long to be subjected to a visit where the focus was to try and "trick" her. This was a very unprofessional approach on his behalf. I do not like to leave a negative review since I am not much of a complainer (hence, the 2 stars insead of 1), but I just feel this was a very unpleasant/unprofessional visit. And he seemed almost excited to get to the "I tricked" part. So I can't help but wonder, how many poor children are suffering with vision problems and did not receive a well deserved exam.
The company that was making glasses for them several years ago filled the prescription wrong, not just once, but twice. I went elsewhere.
last time I went for my exam, I didn't see the doctor or his daughter. The receptionist did my eye exam !

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
