I have been a patient of Dr.Balins for approx. 4 years now for a rather complicated dx of narrow angle glaucoma to both eyes. I had seen several docs before her that I was less than impressed with. Dr.Balin is just amazing! She is entirely knowledgeable, very kind, compassionate and always on top of my care. Her office staff are always very pleasant, accommodating with appt times and locations when they are able. She has twice performed surgery on me now and the surgical team at the Cataract and Laser Center are AMAZING. My eye care is complicated and I feel 100% in the best hands with Dr.Balin and I would NEVER change specialists. I highly recommend her to anyone, particularly those requiring specialized eye care. She is truly a phenomenal and gifted physician and surgeon. Blessings to her and her staff

I had an appointment with Dr. Balin today which was scheduled 6 months ago. I confirmed 3x. When I arrived, I was told that Dr. Balin was not in today, but I could see Dr. Brown, an optometrist. They didn’t even seem to know that I had an appointment. Avoid this place. If I could give no stars, I would.

My five star rating goes to the staff for the way they greeted me as a new patient. I felt very comfortable and I didn’t feel pressured. Countless staff members chatted with me , asked me if there was anything they could do , including making sure there were magazines and the TV was turned on in the waiting room. The professionalism and kindness followed me all the way out the door, as they scheduled my follow up appointment. A good first impression is import and they all did it well!

I met with Dr. Balin at her Northampton, Ma., office and was very impressed with her work! I requested treatment for my bilateral cataracts and she did perform the surgery with great skill .... her office workers likewise were very competent and caring ... My vision was restored to a a very acceptable degree and I'm so grateful for Dr. Balin and her staff!!

It's hard to say enough about someone who restored your sight. Dr. Balin is both highly skilled and highly professional. Not only did she remove cataracts from both of my eyes, but I went from 20/650 vision to 20/20 in the course of just a few weeks. The predominance of the change occurred virtually overnight. The aftercare, as well, has been phenomenal. Doctors Balin and Brown, as well as the entire office staff, are wonderful to work with. I highly recommended this office.

Nancy Balin is profoundly inconsiderate. She keeps patients waiting literally for hours and shows little respect or compassion.

Dr. Balin and Dr. Brown are amazing doctors. I just had PRK surgery on August 11 and even though my eyes are still healing and adjusting, my vision is so much better already! I've been a prisoner to glasses and/or contacts since 3rd grade (I'm 45). I had been on the fence about vision correction surgery for years. After finally deciding to bite the bullet and go for a consult, my fears were quickly put to rest. The entire staff is very compassionate and thorough. They never made me feel rushed and always made sure everything was explained and understood. On the day of the procedure, I had laryngitis and couldn't speak, I was only able to whisper, and they were extra accommodating on that behalf as well. They even let my husband stay with me for the whole visit, except the actually surgery itself; but he was able to wait right outside the door and even got to watch my procedure on a TV in the surgery waiting room. The price was fair as well. But...how can you even put a price on being able to see again and not have to depend on glasses! I can't say enough good things about the Balin Eye and Laser Center. I wouldn't hesitate to refer anyone looking to ditch the glasses! And finally, a HUGE shout out to JoAnn. She is beyond amazing. We communicated mostly via email for setting up appointments and my questions and such. Super friendly, efficient and responsive! THANK YOU AGAIN TO THE ENTIRE STAFF!

Waited 35 minutes before being called in. Technician did eye exam. Saw Dr. Balin at end of visit for no more than 5 or 6 minutes. She gave me several diagnoses without explaining them then left abruptly. Very unprofessional demeanor. Definitely not recommended..felt like an assembly line operation.
