Where do I begin? Let me first say that despite my experience with this doctor I am very thankful that he and his staff were able to make time and perform the emergency surgery needed to prevent me from going blind in one eye on such short notice. The surgery went well and I am looking forward to being able to see again. I don't take any of this lightly and I think it is important to share my experience from beginning to end good, bad or indifferent. I also want to say that at no point during any of the office visits including the location I had surgery at or the location I had my post op and follow up appointments at did I have any issues with the office staff. Each member of the office staff aside from Dr. Shah himself was friendly and professional. With that said both of my follow up appointments since my surgery have been the most unpleasant and unprofessional experiences I have ever had with a Doctor. Considering his extensive education and experience in his field I am appalled at the way I was treated by Dr. Shah. I felt as if Dr. Shah had no interest in my concerns about returning to work much sooner than anticipated with one functioning eye and if anything made me feel like there was something wrong with me as a person for even considering the need for more time to recover. I felt as if I was just another number and I truly felt as if I was bothering Dr. Shah with my concerns about being able to return to work and perform my job at the highest level possible. Dr. Shah also added notes to my medical file that are unequivocally false. I take these accusations very seriously and most certainly do not appreciate Dr. Shah making me sound like some ungrateful monster of a person. I take my career very seriously and I want to make sure that when I return to work I am able to do my job as expected. I was fortunate enough to get an emergency referral for another specialist in my area and I could not have asked for a better experience. My new doctor respected my feelings about this whole situation and agreed that it would be wise to extend my leave from work and allow me more time to recover. Words cannot express how relieved I am that I can finally take the time needed to recover and I do not have to return to Dr. Shah's office ever again.

Always nice and fast.
DR Ansari did glocoma surgery in my right eye felt nothing at all, did a great job with follow up visits, 1st one was day after my last visit was 2 months + 1 day since surgery he gave me the all clear, can't say anything bad about anyone in that office all very nice, polite , every thing was explained before hand if you had a question any questions they were answered, this was my 1st time seeing Dr Ansari and could not have any happier with the results, I would definitely recommend OCB to anyone in need of an eye surgeonJack S

Excellent surgeons for retina and cataracts. Professional and kind staffDr Tom Hsu and Dr Chirag Shah are wonderful
When have your reading glasses had a focal point of an arm's length distance from you nose? (Mine had always been a range within a bent arm's distance.) This means when choosing a correction for nearsightedness that you will require glasses to see anything closer than basically an arm's length away. I vote not good based on my experience at the Framingham location due to the lack of information I was given. May have chosen differently for my eyes had this been made clear or gone somewhere else. Also, no mention that my stigmatism in one eye which is on the lesser side couldn't be corrected. All of this is like having a hip replacement, the doctor saying all is good, except you need a 1/4" lift in one shoe. Stuck again with progressive lenses with different prescriptions for each eye. Can drive without glasses, just can't see the dashboard, read a GPS or map unless I have on my glasses. Plus optometrist there gave me a incorrect prescription; after a month of headaches, went to someone else who rescripted it and no problems since. Of course, I was out-of-pocket for the recheck. Fortunately, where I went for my glasses, a change of lenses was covered.

Worst office ever! Extremely long hold times and wait times if you ever get in! I have an eye infection and they want to give me an appointment a week out.
Another golden goose for the Mass General monopoly. I was charged $465 for a visit with an optometrist (not a doctor) and contact lens fitting (for the same contact lenses I've been wearing for 20 years). And that was AFTER they very nicely agreed not to charge me a new patient fee. And they could not figure out how to print out an explanation of benefits so that I could submit it to my insurance company -- they want me to spend more of my time (and thus money) to contact their billing department. All of this for a 15 minute visit where I had to remind the optometrist to do a thorough exam to check for health problems. There were tons of people waiting in the waiting room and the practitioners seemed harried -- it's clearly a "get 'em in, charge 'em as much as we can, and get 'em out" type of operation.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
