List of Richard Brown's Reviews
Very sad that he is retired. Was my rheumatologist for more than ten years. The very, very best. Even my dad went to see him. He's hard to replace.
1. Dr. Brown wrote to have my Rx for Lidocaine patch denied. 2. Dr. Brown said, "Give me your hand" and then tried to crush my arthritic hand between both of his. I screamed. 3. Dr. Brown told me that I could be in a wheelchair "any day now."
I used Valley Medical for a couple appointments, and I recently needed to request my medical records to be sent from them to another provider. They use a third-party agency called ChartRequest to address such requests. Long story short, ChartRequest has an F rating from the Better Business Bureau. Go see for yourself. I found out the hard way- by making a request that I later found was drastically overcharged. I just assumed (wrongly) that Valley Medical wouldn't use a scam operation to assist in providing a patient's medical records. There's no way to provide online feedback to Valley Medical about this, except to leave this review. A patient's medical records should be free. And, if not, the patient should not have to deal with a tricky, deceptive third-party agency to retrieve them. Be ware if you have to request records from Valley Medical-- Chart Request is a scam...
Dr. Brown has been very helpful. He stuck with me when I was dragging my feet regarding medication. A few years later when I was ready to try he chose medication that took into consideration my other conditions. The results have surprised me in that I am in almost no pain now.
One of the best specialists I've ever seen. He explained things clearly and thoroughly and I never had the feeling I was being 'rushed out the door'.
I'm impressed with Dr. Brown's professional manner, such as the time he spent on my first visit and his interest and patience in listening to my account of my health issues. I respect and agree with his assessment, recommendations, and plan of treatment. i''m looking forward to a good working relationship with him that will benefit my health condition.
this doctor is ... different. He told my PCP his take on my condition is that I am "achy and miserable". When the medicine he prescribed did ...

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
