Harwich Port Health Center's Online Review Report Card

I live in Harwich and when I need to call Outer Cape to book an appointment, ask a question, refill a prescription etc, I go personally rather than call because whenever I call it invariably takes at least 20 minutes before I get through. Never in my 64 years have I ever experienced that in a HealthCare facility.Recently my 93 year mother was diagnosed with a very serious illness and the Nurse Practitioner had the scheduling department request an Urgent Mammogram for her. It didn’t go out until the next day because the scheduler didn’t put the request in correctly. When I called about it she had an attitude toward me because I ‘needed to understand they have a new system and they’re still learning’. Not a hint of her feeling sorry or bad for her miss. The next day still nothing from the Imaging Center so I called again. They told me the scheduler submitted an incomplete request. Had to go to Outer Cape in person to tell them to fix it (because I didn’t want to wait on the phone for 20 minutes). Also when I was there I asked them to renew a prescription and when the prescription was not at the Pharmacy I called because I was not able to go in person (yes, I waited forever) and was told there was no record of the request. Unbelievable and unacceptable. I do like the doctors there but I’m having very serious concerns about the management of this facility. Bottom line - you need more staff to answer phones and teach the staff how to log call and communicate.

I’m very reluctant at times to post things about Businesses, however I have been going here for many years and when I compared the Service I use to Receive in the pass to now they have fall off in so many ways especially in communication and reliability, so recently I brought my son in for his wellness Check (14mths)on 4/14/22 some blood work was requested after a week I hear nothing, I called to speak to a NURSE and the phone rang someone answered and before I got the chance to say a word I was transferred to another line, which I found very unprofessional where is the compassion to want to help people, anyway I never got to speak to anyone, I decided to take a day off to go there 4/21/22 I ask to speak with a nurse that was Available she came out I spoke with her regarding another issue and I then ask for my Son results and she told me to write down his information and she would call me later that day I still haven’t heard from anyone, so I’m waiting to see what this week brings but I don’t know what is going on with some of the younger nurses in the Field, but it’s horrible that we have this health clinic that looks so beautiful on the outside but have people inside that is insensitive, by the way the ladies at the front desk are pleasant and wonderful……. They need to fixed their phone service and teach some of the nurses great customers service skills, improve on COMMUNICATION and if the work load is too much Stop taking New patients….

Great place to get your health taken care of. Always a clean comfortable environment. Very nice doctors, nurses and workers.

I’ve gone to outer cape health since I was a baby and I’m grateful to have them as my PC still, I plan on sticking with them always. They’ve been more than accommodating to me, time and time again. I don’t think there is a better PC office around here that offers everything that they do! Also their pharmacy has the nicest most hardworking men I’ve ever met at a pharmacy in my life, they genuinely take care of their customers.

I literally have no luck with this place and filling prescriptions. now my doctor is on vacation and can't even see my request until my prescription is empty and there's nothing they can do because of their awful computer system they keep "updating". not really an issue as I can call tomorrow and make the request again since the "updated" computer system can't seem.to hang on to a request for more than a business day but hey we're only forced to use these guys right?

Excellent practice. I never am in the waiting room longer than a few minutes. Front desk staff are kind and helpful. (all of them) Pharmacy is also awesome. They are proactive and knowledgeable. Always a quick turn around time. Wait time for MD is also short. I never feel rushed by either April or Dr Anthony. My care is thorough and this has been my best experience with any practitioner. Kudos to April and Dr. Anthony. Thank you for taking care of me.
