List of Beth Israel Lahey Health Primary Care's Reviews
Always receive me on time, very nice new office and exam rooms decor, very friendly and helpful staff and great doctors. Location easy to get to on foot, by bike, or car.
Not professional doctors...
Administratively, horrible place that will keep you hanging for months about billing and insurance matters. Have called them over 10 times and they haven’t figured out, once even saying they forgot. Also needs to have better coordination between hospitals in other locations, and be more accessible.
First impressions are everything!! And this wasn't good at all. Here for a simple blood draw appointment was at 10am and as it approaches 1045am I am still in the waiting room. Very unprofessional atmosphere and definitely no accountability whatsoever! Sadly I think the location plays a role in how you're treated and the expectation that is met. I would gladly go to the main campus for care if this is how they treat their patients!!!
Shut it down. Don’t go. You would probably get better care at a veterinarian than you do as a person in this clinic. Early for our appointment, and we had to wait an hour to see the doctor. The doctor who saw my mother (a senior citizen) didn’t give her the time of day to explain the high dosage medication they were going to start her on, or bother to ask her input on it, wouldn’t share her medical statistics with her after she asked twice, did no blood work during what was supposed to be a routine physical, and took no precautions before sending her on her way. Their after hours on-call doctor was a joke. The doctor who took the call answered and actually scolded my mother, and then tried to scold me for calling her “when someone is sleeping at 11pm” with a what she felt wasn’t a dire medical emergency (enough to call 911). Don’t doctors have a duty to provide care when they’re on-call for after hours? Why have after hours if you can’t call with a real concern? The absolute worst set of doctors we have ever had the misfortune of seeing. Horrendous.
This place should shut down. Period. Both physicians and supporting staff were inapproachable, condescending, had no respect for patients' time, to say the very least. The physician I saw made many inconsistent remarks, billed me a medical visit when I scheduled for a physical (and their appt record reflected that) and all we did the entire visit was her asking a few medical history questions. It's impossible to speak to billing/ customer service/ patient relations, despite me trying to communicate through many channels. Stay away if you care about your health and cherish your time.
You can't get blood work at this lab if you are unvaccinated! -whoever made that decision must be unaware of the present status of CoVid
For the admin side - 1 star, but because my PCP was experienced and empathetic, I’d give it 2… that is if I could ever get an appointment with him. When I had bronchitis, they couldn’t give me an appointment for 11 weeks out, by the time I saw them, my bronchitis got better by itself. Later I had an infection that was spreading across my body each day, but they couldn’t get me an appointment, kept directing me to urgent care instead and then when urgent care misdiagnosed me, this location STILL couldn’t give me an appointment… I switched PCPs to a different next work and they saw me the next day to treat the infection
Terrible service took me almost 30 minutes to answer the phone..
This review is not for Dr. Reis, who has been nothing but compassionate, thorough and caring. This review is for the practice itself and specifically the administrative office and staff. I could go into details, but bottom line is that I will be seeking another primary care doctor/practice ASAP as I cannot stand to have any more of my time wasted by incompetence. This is 2020, yes - things are different. But phones should still be answered, voicemails should still be returned and office staff should be able to enter appointments in the patient portal correctly. I have been on hold for 20+ minutes waiting for a countdown which I think will lead me to a live person. Nope. Just a voicemail to leave a message. Message left. Not returned for over a week. You can’t even get through to them when you arrive for your appt to let them know you’re here. And when you do show up for your appointment with your favorite doctor, be prepared to wait up to an hour outside before they bring you back. I feel for the staff, as being understaffed is not their fault- but this is UNACCEPTABLE. I work in healthcare and Beth Israel Lahey should be ashamed. They have lost my business.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
