I would defiantly recommend this hospital! I have only had to deal with the ICU wing and staff and I have to say hands down they are the most amazing people I have met at a hospital. My boyfriend was admitted to the ICU and was in a medically induced coma for almost a week but once taken off the meds to induce that he still wouldn't wake up for almost 4 days after and the staff was very compassionate with myself and his family in regards to this, I was there everyday for hours on end sitting with him and they never once got annoyed or aggravated with me about anything. On top of that I would call 2-3 times a day throughout the day when I was at work or couldn't make it to see him right away and they answered all the questions I had even if nothing about his status had changed. I will point out a couple specific people who were nurses and his Dr named Bry, Beth and Jackie, They were ALL so attentive to him and so understanding and amazing with myself and his family. I had been up there one day from 4:30 till about 8:30 ( visiting hours are only 11-8) and they didn't give me any hard time about being there after visiting hours and didn't even tell me to leave or anything along those lines. I have such respect for this staff due to the severity of the patients that they deal with and I cant say enough amazing things about them. They literally saved my boyfriends life and were able to bring him back to us after we thought all hope was gone. THEY DO NOT GIVE UP ON THEIR PAITENTS AT ALL!
My location of residence: Boston, MA. Location of this hospital: 1153 Centre St, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130My father cut a fairly sized piece of the tip of his finger and I had rushed him to the ER, which had occurred two nights ago. His finger would not stop bleeding. A continuous fast flow that did not even slow down even when applying pressure. Roughly 1/2" of his finger tip (including the fingernail) got cut off. I had to bring it over there in a container of ice just to see if they would be able to skin graft it or anything in that manner. That is how severe it was. When we arrived about midnight, the woman at the front desk gave a lot of sass and attitude after we told her that the individual who was sitting in the waiting room who was complaining only about a headache (not blaming that individual at all) should wait since this type of injury, which I'm sure is common sense to everyone else, takes higher precedence. I'm not favoring my father. I'm speaking in general. If the bleeding was somewhat controllable, then I'm sure waiting would have been something that we would have considered. The woman stood firmly and said that he has to wait for his turn. We could see a few of the ER healthcare staff standing around by a desk where they were giggling and laughing. Just fooling around. They did not take any action or at least provide medical attention to slow down the bleeding (which is still unacceptable. Someone bleeding, literally, where it's dripping in the waiting room should be taken by someone whose shooting the hay).We waited 45 minutes until we decided that we could not wait any more longer and rush to another ER. Where then we had went to BIDMC who took him in within 6 minutes and saw a physician. The quality of the staff and the services were far more exceptional than the mediocrity nursing/ health staff. I believe the woman at the desk was definitely a healthcare professional and not just an admin.ATTN: If BWH Faulkner staff are reading this, you should bring this review to the supervisor and have a talk with the staff that works or worked during that shift. I'm not sure about the other shift times but, yeah,... Beyond pissed that the staff were simply having a good time fooling around and expected to be compensate for their hard work. Maybe the other staff is great but this shifts' staff members were HORRENDOUS. BWH is a good hospital with great staff but this experience of the staffing and service in the ER was simply embarrassing. I never write reviews nor negative comments even though the service was somewhat fair but me saying that this was terrible means it was a nightmare. I would give this review no starts if it was acceptable. If you need me to come over there and speak with the supervisor face to face, I'm more than happy to come on by to discuss this matter with them.
I have had a great experience with a partial left knee surgery. Dr. Shaw was personal and professional always explaining everything.Susan my nurse in pre-op was tremendous. Smart and funny. My nurse Kevin on the night shift was tremendously helpful and responsive. The PCA’s Meghan and Steph were terrific keeping my needs at the forefront. The PT and NP Laurie made a tough experience very good. I would recommend Brigham and Faulkner to anyone looking for top notch professional care.Thank you all for the job you do.
The neurology department at this hospital is a joke, specifically the women's headache center. There's lack of communication between staff, lack of effort from doctors so much so that its negligent. It should not take 3 plus months to fill a prescription, or 3 plus weeks to hear back from the doctor. The non effectiveness of this department has caused so much physical and emotional distress, and disruption to my household. Not only because of LACK OF DUE TREATMENT but because of their negligence that its now caused a loss of health insurance and disruption to our everyday lives. I have never seen such disorganization at a medical facility. These are people's lives they're dealing with and they're blatantly failing their patients. I have a very sick family member at home WHICH would have never happened and could have been avoided had the staff had just done their jobs. All this department has done is twiddle their thumbs and pass notes back and forth with a huge attitude. This department should be investigated by the medical board and staff should be replaced or at the very least be put on probation.
If you’re over 15 minutes late they make you cancel your appointment, no exceptions (even if a truck overturned on the highway on your way up and it took you 2 hours). I find this to be such hypocrisy - you often have to wait 30-45 minutes past your appt time to get in to see a doctor. I was 5 minutes past the cutoff and was told I had to come back.
Everyone was very supportive and professional throughout my experience in the ER and overnight. I highly recommend going there vs a Boston ER which would be much more crowded and wait times worse.
I went there with a broken finger. Had an X-ray, had it splintered, she did a terrible job. I straightened it myself when I got home. Hoping it would heal straight as before. It did not! The last joint is bent 45 degrees and often gets in the way..... very unhappy. Against my will I was taken there due to a wellness check. A person I thought was my friend went:followed me there. I told the desk that I did not need to be "here" a waste of time and money. Without my knowledge unfriendly friend spoke lies to the Dr. They all believed her. Called a wrong number for my sister. Re X-rayed my finger(lol), wouldn't listen to me because they believed false friend. Didn't ask for my sister's correct phone number. Said they were going to follow up...( with what?...never did! lol) and wrote I had a roommate. I did not! ( lol, again) as each time the Dr came into my room that was were he and his ducklings sat. Horrid experience. Barely any food or water. Spending an overnight in jail would have been HEAVEN compared to in-genuine rude treatments by Drs. On the last day a dietician came in... way to late. A boiled egg, two bananas and twelve oz of water for 3 days.!!! Well I fasted for the first time, no choice!!! I was blown away when I read the medical report!!! And the sad thing, I tried to complain to the government Dept and the hospital Dept and got nowhere. Two yrs later I had the opportunity to have a scan there NO WAY, I would rather a nuclear warhead than step foot in there ever again. Since then I have noticed that when Drs ask a question they do record what you actually said, BUT interpret what they THINK. So the lesson is lie so you do not get branded with misinformation for your medical oriented life. A DEFINITE BUYER BEWARE. GOOD LUCK N TRUST ONLY IN GOD!!!

Went to ER because I couldn't stop puking. I'm a baby when I feel really sick and weak and I become really anxious. Everyone was very kind and comforting and the doctor showed me how the IV works so I would be less afraid of it. Appreciate him going above and beyond to help me with that! I would definitely recommend going here if you need ever a hospital.
Horrible Experience. Anyone seeking a neurologist at the Headache Center run as fast as you can in the opposite DIRECTION!!!!! This department is beyond horrible ever since the pandemic and remote work started. I would have never imagined that this department would LITERALLY give me a headache!!!!!!!!I should note the neurologist are great but the Prior Authorization team is a nightmare and needs to be hold accountable for mistakes made. Because I’m the end the patients will suffer. I have been 4 months without being medicated because of the prior authorization department.Update: I was able to see a New Neurologist in October 2021 I got my medication that requires a Prior Authorization within ONE WEEK. This allegedly proves either they are intentionally not doing their job correctly to force patients to go into the office and undergo Botox treatment for migraines instead of taking calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) medications you inject yourself with monthly. Or they simply are incompetent in doing their job.I complained reach out to patient support numerous times and know one seems to care so please save yourself the headache and migraine and go to another facility!!!!!???
