The worst experience I have ever had and my first at a surgeon's office. I went in April of 2023 for a consultation and scheduled surgery for June of 2023. They handed me a packet on the way out. I never heard from one person from the Surgeon's office to explain anything or see if I had any questions. The communication on their end was terrible. The only person I heard from was someone to schedule a preoperative appointment at Lowell General. I don't think the surgeon's office talks to anyone in preop at Lowell General because I was given the wrong prep instructions from the preoperative nurse. The colon clean out prep I received was not the one their office uses. I know this prep caused my colon to perforate again and I was rushed to the emergency room, I called Dr. Simonds, and she told me to "lay down and rest" and stop the prep. My wife had to rush me to the emergency room and because of this I couldn't have my surgery and laid in the hospital bed for 3 days healing once again. When I spoke to Dr. Simonds, she had no empathy for me and said her office did nothing wrong and actually said "option a is a perfectly acceptable prep but we use option B." This was the first I heard this statement from anyone. This was worst experience I have ever had with medical professionals. On top of that I am self-pay and I paid $36,000 upfront for my surgery that I never had, and it took Lowell General Hospital and Tufts Medical 45 days to refund me my $36,000! I filed a complaint with the hospital and with MA Board of Medicine because that is all I can do, and I am very upset. This was the surgeon's office and Lowell General's fault; I wouldn't go near either of these facilities again in my lifetime. This was completely awful, on top of that, I am responsible to pay for my hospital stay that they caused. They won't see a red cent from me. I will fight them until the day I die.

I had to have emergency surgery, I hadn’t met Dr. Simonds until after the emergency surgery was taken care of,I must tell you for a Surprise surgery Dr Simonds was extremely kind, warm and professional she explained every little detail everything step by step and I felt like I was talking to a friend and not my md. I highly recommend Dr.Simonds. Hopefully in 6 months I can have the surgery reversed and ask Dr Simonds to put me back together ??

Dr. Simonds is great! She is professional, thorough andcommunicates extremely well. She will perform a second hernia surgery on me in January. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Simonds was professional, knowledgeable, and concerned about my health. She thoroughly explained my options. I never felt rushed, as I have at times with other doctors.

Poor.dr diamonds did not address my concerns or problems after surgery. This created compounding problems instead of solving them.

she said things lacking in common sense. also, she communicates a lot nonverbally - pointing, smiling, etc. she also says a lot of things that are patently untrue. in short, i could not be less impressed with her. and, she is overly impressed with herself. her staff is very rude. they have telephoned me more than once screaming about ridiculous things.

Dr. Simonds literally saved my husbands life. He was transferred from another hospital in a emergency situation and she had to do emergency surgery right away. She was very compassionate and had empathy for our situation. He spent 5 days in the hospital and she came and personally visited him daily regardless of how busy she was or how many other patients she was careing for. When we got home she called randomly just to check in and took care of his wounds at every follow up appointment and explained everything. Highly recommended Doctor.

Dr. Simonds is a great surgeon! I had been suffering from hemorrhoids for years and fissures for a couple of months when I visited her. She was very patient with me. She did not jump into performing a surgery right away. She spent months to treat my problems without a surgery (I think this shows how much she cares about her patients). I ended up having a surgery. She did a great job (no infections etc.). I feel very lucky that our paths crossed and I am fully recovered. I highly recommend her!

I would highly recommend Dr. Simonds. She is a very thoughtful and caring doctor. Dr. Simonds gave me the time to share my concerns and never made me feel rushed. There are few doctors out there like her and I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone!
