List of Gurley Eye Care Associates's Reviews
Had 3 visits for a posterior vitreous detachment last year. It's very busy and doctors are kind of rough. Front desk was friendly and helpful. On my 3rd visit there was a complication with a new symptom the doctor couldn't figure out. Was seen by a couple doctors who seem frustrated and rushed. Was told I had edema and had to see a retina specialist. My eye was very sore for 2 days due to how rough they were. On his final examination the doctor said "you only come when you have a problem". Not sure why they were so stressed and rude. I found a new practice who figured what the problem was and were professional and friendly. Not recommended!!!!
Make sure YOU get a copy of your eyeglass prescription when you leave. It is yours! it belongs to you by law! They route you thru the optician desk when you try to obtain your prescription - obvs trying to get you to buy their glasses instead of buying online which is much, much cheaper. I ended up buying a pair of $265 readers just so I could get out of there.
Well you see it takes about one and a half hours to see the doctor that you are there for. Then they tell you that they schedule EVERY APPOINTMENT only 10 minutes allotted. I asked if they had ever had a ten minute appointment they said no but insisted that over booking is a working system. But what it really means is that three to four people have to wait an hour and a half for the same doctor. All angry . Most of them elderly citizens. They made it policy to waste their patients time. I have no idea how to change this from the outside, but maybe if enough patients can call them and explain math and time and humanity to them they could perhaps listen? Or maybe patients just go to another eye doctor? I don’t know , just spitballing ideas to get a patient’s time respected.
Well, I took my dad there today. AppoinTment Time was 1030 did not get to see Dr until 11:49 and it was after noon when we left. I explained that an hour or more is not a reasonable wait time. I was also told that they schedule appointments every ten minutes. All of the patients in that room were all there for the same doctor and waiting over an hour. i Was told the 10 minutes is reasonavle because people are getting different things done. I asked if anyone has ever in their history only had a ten minute appointment . The answer was no but she stood by her 'reasoning'. I can't explain time any better to her than this is what is in place and it is not working. I mean I implied it, but I maybe didn't spell it out because it was so dumb. The system is broke. I am not even sure who to ask fo? The policy maker? I am not looking forward to going back.
Dr Massicotte and techs are worth the wait
Got an eye exam a year ago. got my glasses at a cheaper place. I lost them and tried to get a replacement pair. The prescription was for only one year and I was a few weeks beyond that. The receptionist was very dismissive about getting a two year prescription. When I suggested that many places offer a two year prescription she was very condescending and brushed off any attempt to ask a question. She just wanted to get me in for another exam. I can't take time off from work every year to get an exam. It felt like they were just after extra dollars. I don't have diabetes so why the yearly exam? I went 56 years without glasses, why the attitude? Really turned me off.
Very professional office. The optical shop always takes great care of me.
I have been having eye problems for several months and while it did take a while to get an appointment, I finally feel like I have a plan. I was impressed with how their organization worked and every staff member I came into contact with was knowledgeable and caring. Thank you for doing what you do!
Good MD. But the receptionist is the worst ever. Her unprofessional attitude drove me to another practice.
12/7/22 Very professional and caring staff start to finish, would recommend.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
