List of Umass Memorial Health - Marlborough Hospital's Reviews
I had a good experience here. I was admitted quickly. I was there for about 5 hours, and during that time had two different nurses and 2 different doctors attending me (2 different shifts). The nurses were especially friendly, helpful and lively. Three doctors were attentive and took their time and listened. There was a fair amount of waiting for test results but that seems normal. But as good an experience as one could expect in the ER I think.
I was seen at the hospital. I will say it was one of the better experiences I had there. Nurse Bob was patient, kind and educated me on my situation while I was in server pain. He helped me understand many things that I was unaware about. The doctor was kind as well. Even when another patient became aggressive about wanting pain meds that were not necessary she tried to help in a positive gentle but assertive way. Addiction is hard but we can’t give in. She may have saved her life. Well for that day. I give them a 5.
Medical staff was fantastic, polite and professional. However, the hospital is trashy, as in literal trash in and around the waiting room. Beyond that, the security company they use (securitas) is a waste of money. Four loud men hanging out and talking very loudly about religion and "laying hands on women" , and the security staff are the first people you interact with at this hospital. I will NEVER go back to this hospital, and I will go out of my way to tell people about my negative experience. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!!!!!
ER is under review at state and federal level for deficient practice!!!
Terrible service, starting with triage, a completely rude and unprofessional nurse. My husband arrived with abdominal pain, and she didn't have the humane character to get up and collect his information or understand the level of pain he was experiencing. Besides waiting 3 hours without treatment, we had to listen to the same triage nurse rudely for questioning the urgency of treating abdominal pain! We left this terrible hospital and went to another one, where they put him on medication and ran tests within 20 minutes. Are you waiting to be sued to rate the service?? If it had zero stars, that would be the rating I would give this inhumane place.
The PCP has been rescheduling appointment multiple times.
Much of it is excellent. But a recent day surgery left me with bad memories and feeling unsupported. The surgeon was over an hour late; I was the first case of the day and feel like everything was extra rushed once he arrived. The anesthesiologist never described the partial breathing apparatus, only the medicine to put me to sleep. I had a horrible sore, dry throat for 2 days. I never saw either the surgeon or the anesthesiologist after the surgery. The nurse in the recovery room paid little attention to me once I woke up, no questions about pain. I had to ask for pain meds. The day care nurse would have sent me home without discharge instructions had I not asked. This was on a Thursday. No one called later that day or the next to check on me. I had great service from the breast imaging center but once diagnosed with cancer I was on my own. I would not choose Marlborough for initial cancer consultation. I needed a proper breast clinic. It was only after I asked for sole coordination help that I heard from the nurse navigator, three months almost post diagnosis. I am a health care practitioner and this all dismays.
Don't go here. The Dr asked me what I wanted from her If she had a brain she would have figured it out. Had to buy street narcotics because the Tylenol I waited for 3 hrs was useless. That was what I was trying to avoid! Place sucks go to emerson
Very clean facility, every worker I interacted with was kind, and keep in mind this was right as they opened very early in the morning. Accommodating and safe all around. Kurt in Nuclear Medicine is great!
DO NOT GO HERE. I brought my mother in to get checked as she was having trouble breathing, extreme muscle pain, could barely hold herself up from dizziness, and bad chest pain. She couldn’t even sit in a chair. From the time we walked in until she got brought back, the nurses were incredibly rude to her. Judgmental and showing absolutely no humanity. Why be a nurse and work with sick people and have no empathy or compassion? They did an EKG, had it shown to a doctor, and booted her to the waiting room for another 20 minutes while she’s dry heaving, crying, and struggling to breathe. She ended up sitting on the floor and leaning on the chairs to be somewhat comfortable. It took us asking a security guard to just get her a blanket. Finally a nurse came out with a wheel chair, and did NOT help my mom. I helped her up and the nurse gave her nothing but impatience and attitude. On a different note my vape fell out of my pocket and was on the floor so the nurse told me I had to put it in my car otherwise i’d have to wait in the waiting room. I argued that I am absolutely allowed to have it on my person, I just won’t vape. Then she shortly responded to me saying “you can wait out here and i’ll have resources talk to you”. I responded with profanities and maybe calling her the C word. I’ll own that. However, maybe don’t act like one and you won’t get called one. Also, what’s the difference between making me wait in the waiting room with my vape in my pocket, than in the room with my mom? Makes zero sense. After that I was not allowed back in to see my mom. (Fair). However if we were treated like actual human beings, with kindness and tolerance I don’t think any of these interactions would’ve happened. If you’re sick, or someone you love is sick, do not come to this hospital. Extremely unprofessional, condescending and mean. If possible, just take the trip to Worcester or Boston. You’ll get much better care elsewhere. As far as Marlborough Hospital, you guys should be absolutely ashamed of yourselves and your staff. I understand burnout and dealing with difficult people but right out of the gate you treat someone that poorly when they’re scared and in pain? No. Do better.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
