List of Sanjaya Kumar's Reviews
Only good thing I can say is the front desk staff is great. I had 3 appointments with Dr. Kumar. On my first appointment, he had to cancel but I wasn’t notified until I arrived at the office. It was an inconvenience but I didn’t hold it against him, as I realize emergencies happen and are outside of the doctor’s control. 2nd appointment went well but was 30 minutes behind schedule. On the 3rd appointment, I waited in the exam room for 45 minutes without anyone telling me the doctor was running late. I went to the waiting room to tell the staff I was leaving and they immediately went to get Dr. Kumar (again, the staff was great). Dr. Kumar came to ask me what was going on and I explained the situation. I told him I understood that appointments weren’t always on time but I felt it was inconsiderate that no one told me he was running late or even came to check on me in the 45 minutes I sat in the exam room. Rather than offering an apology, Dr. Kumar told me that patients like me do not make things easier! I didn’t attack him, blame him, or even raise my voice. I was simply telling him it was inconsiderate to have someone wait in an exam room for 45 minutes without as much of a heads up that the doctor was running late.
I was suffering from a bladder stone for close to a year and a half. Once I went to see Dr. Kumar, he removed the stone and I feel better than I have in 15 months!! Dr. Kumar was very thorough. After the operation, I had almost no pain (just a little burning when I urinated that lasted for less than a day) and no need for a catheter after the surgery (the entire surgical team and nursing staff at Milford Regional Medical Center were awesome!!!.) Dr. Kumar is an awesome doctor and saved me from further suffering. Thank you Doctor Kumar!!
After his office scheduled an unnecessary telehealth appointment. The Dr. was late for the initial office consult that he was 45 minutes late for. He was affable but offered no apology for being late. Though he did apologize for setting up the telehealth appointment when what I really needed was to come in. After he was 20 minutes late for the procedure That was scheduled a month in advance. I had no choice but to cancel.
I had cancerous mass on my kidney and had to have it removed. Dr Kumar IS the best! I am retired and within a week I no longer needed Tylenol and in 3 weeks back to babysitting and bathing grandchildren!! Amazing doctor!!
Dr. Kumar provided expert care for kidney stones and cyst. He carefully and patiently explained tests, their results and treatment options and smoothly coordinated care and appointments with his Physicians Assistant. The occasional wait is well worth it as he spends all the time needed with you to be sure that you understand your illness and your personalized treatment plan. gdb
When working with him during the transplant process, he did not answer questions, was constantly late and didn’t even see us after surgery. Very disappointed that he is associated with our hospital’s transplant team.
He was recommended by the hospital for a follow up up visit for a kidney stone. I waited one hour and fifteen minutes to just see him. He was rude and curt when I questioned his approach to dealing with the stone. I can’t recommend him.
Dr. Kumar has removed my right kidney found to be cancerous during imaging for acute pancreatitis. While in the hospital bed I accused Dr. Kumar of just cutting me open and stitching me up. The look on his face was priceless. I was so pain free that I thought he must not have removed my kidney. Recovery was uneventful and follow up over the last 4 years found no related cancer. He was a great personality. Two years ago he removed my prostate with another painless recovery. More discomfort than the kidney but much less than expected. Yes, patients may have to wait but he is busy taking care of other patients. He is worth the wait. The anesthesiologist told me Dr Kumar uses a lot of anesthetic to minimize post operative pain. The anesthesiologist said they have been telling surgeons to do that for 30 years. Bob
Does not value your time, very disrespectful-never apologizes even when >1hr behind schedule. Staff seem to know this as comments include: "he's just like that" and "yeah that's how surgeons are" or "you should speak to him about that." I have been operated on by multiple surgeons for my spine, etc and never had to wait anywhere near the time I did in his office. If he can't handle his caseload then he should book differently, not waste his Pts time. Very unprofessional
Dr. Kumar is a gifted urological surgeon.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
