Shilpa Desai's Online Review Report Card

I went in for routine injection that I have been receiving for 3 years with another provider with no problems, my regular Doctor was away so they referred me to Dr. Desai. I wish I had waited, she placed a pressure patch on my eye after injection because I have recurrent corneal erosion which normally they place a contact bandage for me. She refused me the contact bandage and insisted on the pressure patch I went home to experience pain consistent with a corneal tear went back and she placed another pressure bandage on my eye. I missed a week of work due to her negligence, experienced 3 days of excruciating pain, light sensitivity which left me having to cover both my eyes completely, and ended up with a contact bandage from my regular corneal specialist which helped immensely except now I'm left with permanent blurry vision which was not the case before.

save your time and make an appointment somewhere else. Her assistants don't care about your message and you will never get a call back when you need to refill prescriptions or have questions answered. She also does not give a single s*** about her patients. Seems disturbed by patients all the time. Does not explain anything, arrogant and rude. Someone like her should never be a doctor, if you are not happy with what you are doing, find something else to do.

Front desk was an impersonal and unsatisfying experience. No welcome or appreciation of my business. Dr. Desai was dismissive and condescending to her assistant. She ignored my requests for our appointment agenda, and didn't communicate reasons for procedures that were likely unnecessary. I will not return to her care.

Very bad experience with her. The scheduling at her office is horrible.

Absolute worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. I was pretty uncomfortable with her when I had my appointment last year due to her sheer lack of customer service, then following that any time I needed a prescription for birth control I had to jump through hoops, or they would send the script to the wrong place and I would be on the phone for days with her office and my insurance every three months trying to get my pills filled. My most recent experience has led me to decide to switch doctors. I liked keeping all my medical stuff with Pacific Med as I really like my General Practitioner but I'm over dealing with her and her department. I made an appointment for 3pm and took the half day off work, just for the receptionist to enter the wrong time into the computer. After 3 days of getting the run around trying to change the appointment closer to 3pm and not getting ANY call backs, even though I was told repeatedly I would be called in a couple hours with a solution, I've decided I need to try to get in with a different doctor somewhere else tomorrow so I'm not out the $100 worth of work for nothing.
