Take it from a former orthopedic nurse, Dr. Hanmer is a really good orthopedic surgeon. I had a total hip replacement done four days ago, and it could not have gone better. I arrived at the surgical center at 8:30 a.m. and was out of there before 2:00 p.m. Yup, hard to believe. I know that everybody’s experience will be different, but I took nothing stronger than Tylenol for the first 24 hours post-op, and that was it. I can do stairs, and I’m able to walk a block without pain. Incredible! Sure, I’ve got some work to do with PT, and it will take some time for the area to heal, but I know that I’m well on my way to doing the things that I couldn’t do before because of the pain in my hip. Thank you, Dr. Hanmer.

Dr. Hanmer has replaced both my right and left hips (5 years apart). He was very supportive in the pre-op decision making process and had several other approaches to try before we replaced the first hip. Then, when the second hip started giving me trouble, there was no need to go through it all again. We moved quickly to the decision and scheduled surgery. Recovery team is wonderful and supportive.

I have been impressed with the care I have received since day one. Dr Hanmer was highly recommended by a nurse friend of mine & I can see why he is so respected. My entire experience has been so positive. My pain has been minimal & after just 2 weeks I’m walking indoors without even a cane! This to me is amazing. I felt & continue to feel that Dr. Hanmer & is staff truly care & are on top of my recovery. I would give him 10 stars if l could.

This is my second surgery with Sr. Hanmer. My first hip replacement was such a success. When it was time for my second hip replacement I knew exactly where to go again.
