Dr. Messina was absolutely wonderful. After a broken leg and displaced ankle he did my surgery and every follow up appointment after he was patient, kind and informative. My scar is barely noticeable about and the placement of screws and plates was flawless. He’s incredible at what he does!

My college age son had a bike accident and after ER suggested surgery we saw Dr Messina. He was very thoughtful, reviewed the case and answered all our questions. We decided to try PT and specialized daily movement as it healed with regular monitoring with the aim to avoid surgery. Tommy saw him every two weeks, I attended as I often act as healthcare advocate for friends and family. Dr was patient and welcoming of my extra questions. His strategy worked and my son healed well and has full functionality. Highest marks.

Dr Messina Did my Full Knee replacement which was very successful. He is a very caring Doctor and took his time answering all my concerns. This was my second knee replacement and it went so much smoother in recovering than the first. I would recommend him very highly. My recovery was swift and painless, comparing it to my first surgery.

I have been seen by Dr. Messina on multiple occasions for different problems . I starting with a knee replacement that had a fabulous outcome and on a few visits for cortisone shots in the shoulder joints , always there when I have a problem with a smiling face . great doctor , great practice .

Dr. Messina is very caring, knowledgeable, diplomatic person, that always takes time to understand a patient. We got to know him closely while my Mom’s osteoarthritis have been progressing over 10years leading to two knee replacements (prior: multiple injections). One in 2016 & one in 2017. Both surgeries are full succes that lead to faster recovery. During recovery Dr. Messina paid close attention to her healing process as much as her wellbeing in over all. We are grateful .

My 83 ys mom injured her shoulder& was in the emergency room for 5hr on the wkend. She experienced tremendous pain & was on narcotics the entire wkend. next Mon I called the office, staff told me that there is an opening on Tue, but she canâ??t book her till momâ??s insurance info is cleared by the billing. I begged the staff save the appointment & assured her momâ??s insurance is good. â??NOâ??, she â??canâ??t make the apt till the billing check the infoâ?? & â??that is the office policyâ??. Finally 1hr later, I spoke with billing and momâ??s insurance just confirmed, but they no long have Tue opening. Mom has to wait another day to see doctor. I am extremely upset with â??the office policyâ?? and their response â??like or not, thatâ??s our policyâ?? a billing staff said. Obviously this office in the business to make profit, yet they forget that they are in the health industry. My entire experience told me that this office put money before their mission. Just found another office & will never return.

Dr. Messina perfomed surgery on me in January. Since then he has provided excellent follow-up care. At each appointment he spends alot of time with me and explains exactly what is going on - he is very kind and well-spoken. He personally called me to let me know of tests results, even leaving a cell phone number to call back. He also sought me out in the hospital to check on my progress when I was having a follow-up test. He definitely goes above and beyond to care for his patients. I am really happy he was on duty when I needed surgery, I couldn't have selected a better doctor.

I ended up in the emergency room at Newton Wellesley Hospital -- didn't really have time to choose a doctor, got Dr. Messina. It was a wonderful experience, he didn't have a typical "surgeon" attitude and actually talks to the little people [including his patients]. He patiently answered all my questions although I was on very strong pain medicine and even drew a picture of the fracture and how he was going to fix it! He did a fantastic job and my recovery has been phenomenal. It really helped that I knew that he cared and wanted the surgery to be a success. He was even kind enough to call my physical therapist 2x and me directly about an x-ray. Most surgeons would have delegated that task to a nurse of even a physician's assistant.
