List of Vibra Specialty Hospital Of Western Massachusetts-Central Campus's Reviews
Great are giving
I recommend this hospital and give it 5 stars. The staff here are always treating myself and other patients with kindness.
This hospital is not what it says it is. The case management talks over you when you disagree, makes you feel like you are stupid. They don’t follow through with their physical therapy schedule. They like to keep patients there longer than they are supposed to be. The Nurse Practitioner thinks she’s a doctor and acts like she knows everything. They don’t try hard enough to get patients strong enough to come home. Honestly, don’t send anyone you care about to this “hospital “ they are short staffed and very impatient with the patients. Cannot wait to get my spouse out

From the time that I came in to this hospital, I've had nothing but good nurses taking care of me and pushing me to go forward so I can get out of the hospital and go either to a Rehab Center, or, to go back to my family.
If I was able to give them a ZERO, I would give them ZERO except for the physician who called to informed me that my mother had been admitted to the UMASS hospital.... Andddddd here is the rest of the story. 1st I have strong back ground in Healthcare Management and with the Dept of Community Health/Health Care Regulation and The Joint Commission Accreditation , so I can honestly say, Im not a novice when it come to understanding the importance of the term(s) as it relates to long term care facilities. For example, Continuity of Care and Care Plan protocols to include basic Case Management (GRF, Creatinine Score, oxygen per minute, ejection fraction, BUN score, IADL/ADL ,NSI ... Narrative (briefing of Nurse's Notes) and assessment entry protocols ect... In less than 9 days my mother was given Morphine (several doses) without her inform consent/ or mine on several occasions ( I had no knowledge); and when I question the nurse who administered her the morphine, she replied, well the other RN gave her morphine last night at 8pm , she developed a UTI, pneumonia (left lung), pressure spots where they were not turning her Q2, her hair had not been comb (matted and dirty), skin was extremely dry and peeling (my mother is black), blisters developing on the inside of her hands from dry and dirty nails and hands). They give our older adults patients doses of morphine to sedate them so that they are unresponsive and or heavily sedated and there is minimum care (freakin lazy!). My mother was (is) Trach dependent with limited range of motion. They have a no visitation policy ( I wasn't aware of until she was transferred out of the hospital to their facility). The DON has a nasty unprofessional attitude (I'll deal with her with the state of Mass), they DO NOT return calls ( each time I called I confirmed the correct number and my name) ; I call once a day for lab up dates and or updated daily narrative. Before I hang up, I state, if there are any questions or concerns, please call me. I work for DoD so we are on call 24/7 days a week. One RN (Renali) , not sure of the spelling of her name was very helpful; however, the other RN's ...disengaged, clueless and not informed of the last progress notes and or failed to read them so I would get multiple of inconsistent health update reports regarding my mother. Had she not gone to the emergency room, I believe my mother would not have survives. My mother has her PhD and has worked tirelessly advocating both of the federal and local municipality for human rights, community empowerment ( grant writing) conducting and volunteering in research, education and advocacy for the greater Boston, she currently sits on several boards in the Greater Boston Area. Im disgusted how Vibra Hospital and the staff have treated and neglected her (my mother) care. I didnt want to publish the pictures I have taken but I will submit them to the state and seek further advice of filing a charge of elder abuse and neglect of an older adult in the state of Mass regarding how Vibra and their staff treated my mother and the lack of care she received) Regarding the nasty and rude Director of Nursing(DON) .... Please read my review and take heed. I also, was fooled by the review(s) I read (march 2021) and also, I assume that my mother would be ok because they (Vibra) had recently received their site visit from JCO (Joint Commission). Im curious of what their site visit score was (they would not share that information with me). Again all fair to the physician on call who reached out to me and helped me to figure out where my mother was. When my mom saw me, all I could do was to cry, she was much more frail and swollen. I apologize to her and I spent the last few days caring and cleaning her up. I kissed her and promised her that she would NEVER return to Vibra Hospital again and I will file with every agency and state elected official to include Area on Aging and other federal agencies to ensure this type of treatment does not happen to another Older Adult. FYI, Im just getting started!
Incompetent facility, doesn't take the extra step to help the elderly.

El peor lugar de todos. Se tardaban en contestar las llamadas Telefónicas. O nunca llamaban para saber cómo estaba mi familiar. Nunca bañaron a mi familiar. Estaba sucio y en malas condiciones. No lleve a un ser querido aquí.
My Mother was sent to Vibra to wean her from long term ventilation and trach care with ultimate goal of trach reversal. We had a few set backs with my mother’s condition that causes a few back and forth a between the ICU and Vibra again but once she was finally well enough the speed in which Vibra performed and weaned my mother was shocking! She was on a ventilator for 68 days and they got her off within a week. I felt like communication with the staff was good. I was always able to reach someone in charge to get care goals for all different disciplines and they made themselves available for conference calls. Areas for improvement: quicker response time to patient call buttons. There would be times where it would take over 20-30 mins for someone to answer or I would have to call the front desk to have someone answer her call button. This is particularly concerning as someone can die or go south very quickly and should be attended to much quicker... especially vented patients without a voice to yell for help. This aside and overall we accomplished our goal and we are very pleased with the level of care my mother received. My mother was also very pleased with her nurses and the staff.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
