List of Robin Mayfield's Reviews
I wanted see the PCP first because of my stress-related anxiety before going to pscyhiatrist. So, Robin told me I would get some test results in a couple of days but I have not. I called her office, send a message from online system, etc. No response. Then, after week, I sent a text message to her phone asking to return me back when she is available. After a couple of hours she called and ask if I am Ok. When I told her that I was fine, she started yelling at me. She says that I cannot send a message to a doctor because she was too busy with a patient and had to stop her work because of me. What is too weird to me is, she got back to me after hours later... She needs to be very careful for a patient who has anxiety attacks, she cause another attack because of her yelling. I do not recommend her anybody having this kind of issues because it seems she has no idea what is going on in patient's psychology in such a mood.
I cannot Express how lucky I was to see Dr. Mayfield. I've taking my daughter to several doctors over the course of MONTHS, including her own pediatrician, and would walk away with nothing! They were all baffled about her condition. No treatment plan, no medication, absolutely nothing. I was just about to give up when Dr. Mayfield helped ease my concerns and gave me the answers I desperately needed. My husband and I are so grateful for her help. We were suffering and scared for our little one and now we are at ease because of her. She is amazing at her profession. I've been searching for a doctor who actually listens to their patients vs Being arrogant know it all's and hears every concern and addresses them. If you want results, see Dr. Mayfield.
She is extremely talented and will be able to diagnose complex issues some of which others may not be able to understand. I have gone to many uncaring, arrogant doctors however Dr. Mayfield isn't one of them. She will carefully address every single concern you have and turn it into an actionable treatment plan which other doctors Lack. She's a good listener and a caring doctor. She has really helped me in my time of need. After going to 5 doctors in 3 months, each time leaving more frustrated than the previous time, I was just about to give up and just suffer and she helped me.
When I went for stomach issues that months later was diagnosed as IBS, she blamed it on stress and poor diet. When I explained my tricky situation, she said, “you know honey, you could just walk to the grocery store. There’s good food and exercise.” Then later when I called to ask for a doctors help in regards to a very injured foot (chipped bone, calcified soft tissue, very injured tendon), she answered and argued with me, raised her voice, and made me any to cry. She told me to do the opposite of what my original doctor had told me.
Where to start...Well, I saw her for about a year in her office in Brookline. My first two visits she had her dog with her, who promptly came into the exam room with us, and he sat on the couch, uninvited with me and had his head in my lap the whole time...all while discussing my issues with the doctor. I told her I was allergic for future reference. The following 3 visits the dog was there too, same thing. One time, he was soaking wet because it was raining, so of course he jumped on me...and had his wetness al over me while I am in the exam room with this doctor. VERY unprofessional. She also kept insisting that I take a certain medication (which I had taken before and it does not work for my condition) and she did not seem to understand that. And finally, the last straw was when I was hospitalized and needed to follow up with her, and she did not return my calls for over a month. When she finally DID call me, it was because she wanted to ask me a question about my condition, so that she could advise another patient. I have a chronic illness, and have seen countless doctors and she is by far the worst that I have ever encountered. and PS. Her Brookline office has NO privacy...None..Every patient in the waiting room can hear everything that goes on in the exam room.
Dr. Mayfield is a pleasant and kind doctor. She x-rayed and diagnosed my fractured foot and treated me efficiently, while allowing time for questions and advice. I recommend her and her office highly.
She was my doctor for approximately 3 years and gave me the best care of my life. I even had a pesky condition no one else could figure out (even my first MA PCP at Mass General) and she sorted it out in a WEEK. Her background as a medical researcher helps her make quality treatment recommendations -- rather than relying on whatever the physician has typically done the last ten years. Most importantly, you feel cared about and listened to; a true participant in your treatment. Her ethics are impeccable also and that 's definitely not something you get everyday. She is highly comfortable and competent when dealing with LGBT patients or those who struggle with mental illness.
This doctor works at a Doctors Express in Watertown, MA. My child came in with an ear infection on a weekend when her pediatrician's office was closed. She diagnosed influenza, refused to discuss why she thought this was the case (no nausea, vomiting, fever, cough was present). She insisted on running tests for influenza (a small but silly charge), and when the tests came back negative she still prescribed flu medicine and told me that it was "medically indicated" and that she was simply following "CDC guidelines." This is a woman who should not be practicing medicine. Social work would be a better calling, since she spent over 25 minutes asking me why I was "frustrated" by her poor diagnosis. My daughter went to her pediatrician on Monday after a horrible weekend, received a different course of antibiotics than she had been on previously and was totally fine. Apparently Dr. Mayfield's primary concern is filling out billing codes.
Great doctor! Very professional.
I would like to recommend Dr Mayfield for her compassionate, and gentle manner, being a good listener with an excellent professional approach. I am a Registered Nurse and have worked with many doctors in the past 20 years and feel lucky to have found a doctor with all these attributes. I highly recommend her to anyone in need of that extra attention.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
