List of Mary Callahan's Reviews
Strike 1. Office Staffer (Tonya) called me to remind me of a scheduled appointment the next day, however, as I told her I was an inpatient in the Hospital with ischemic colitis. She DID NOT tell Dr. Callahan but just rescheduled. When I subsequently went to the rescheduled appointment and told Dr. Callahan about the hospitalization it was the first she had heard of it. Check the date on the record request Dr. Callahan!! Strike 2. Months later I called (as instructed in a pre procedure email for a colonoscopy) to ask about when to stop taking my blood thinner and was subjected to hositity and attitude from Tonya without getting the requested information. Strike 3. I finally spoke with Dr. Callahan who defended Tonya and said she had informed her of my ischemic colitis in a timely manner and had acted appropriatley. Dr. Callahan also told me to find a new cardiologist. Done.
I've been seeing her for a couple of years now after a heart incident. She's been wonderful. Testing was thorough, appropriate, and well-explained. She is relatable and took the time to answer all my questions, to explain things I didn't know to ask, and really get to know me. She let me participate in truly guiding my care. I recommend her highly.
Dr. Callahan has a very reassuring manner. She is not only thorough, but clear about any explanations. She takes her time with each patient, hands out pertinent literature and summary of the visit prior to leaving.
Another great experience with Dr Callahan! So happy to have her caring for our family. And her nurse is the best :)
Misdiagnosed me, missed a major issue that I only discovered when the radiologist performing the echo pointed it out. Wasn't available and did the return phone calls from ER doctors when I went to the emergency room with severe chest pain. Abraded my skin with sandpaper, yes sandpaper to the point of bleeding and when they said they needed to "rough it up" so electrodes could stick during a stress test. Needless to say I now see a cardiologist at MGH
I would gladly recommend Dr. Callahan anytime. We met accidently at her (and my) former cardio dr's office, my former had retired over the winter, I accompanied my dear friend to meet his new cardiologist, Dr. C., she kindly came out of her office and introduced herself to me. I liked her attitude, and became a patient of hers. She was the only one of the 3 previous cardiologists I'd had that pinpointed my most pressing discomfit. I followed her to Sandwich when she opened her own office.
Excellent bedside manner. Very thorough in examination and explanation of condition and treatments. Her assistant, Tonya, is also excellent.
Dr. Mary Callahan has no bedside manor for the child or adult. I'm so disappointed because my child is 16 and I've never had a problem or complaint with any doctor until now. If you're going to go to preferred pediatrics pick another doctor
I have had a horrible experience with Dr. Mary Callahan. I have been bringing my child to Preferred Pediatrics for a little over 5 years and have loved the practice and even requested many to Preferred Pediatrics. My child saw Dr. Mary Callahan for the first time and she was very rude to me and rushed out as if we were wasting her time.
I trust her. That's important to me.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
