Sent me for mri at two different places both were unable to do mri because of implants. Had the wrong equipment .After I told them what happened twice they said i need to schedule it my self. I'm not a Dr. How would i know what I need. Anyways never heard back from them. Good because if you dont even know how to take mris why would I EVER let you do surgeries on me. Go somewhere safer with a staff that can do BASIC Diagnostic tests.

I'll start off by saying the Doctors were very nice and professional, as were the staff. They also maintained high standards of health. My rating is based on the actual medical advice I was given. I visited PBOA after a year of back pain, and Dr. B ordered an MRI, which he reviewed and said he didn't see anything concerning. He recommended steroid injections from another PBOA colleague, which I thought made sense, but ultimately didn't help (no complaints at this point). A few weeks later, I aggravated my back and immediately started experiencing 24/7 sciatic nerve pain. To paint a picture, I couldn't walk without being hunched over a cane and the pain was a constant 10/10, I couldn’t sleep, and I'm only 27 at the time. I saw Dr. B at PBOA and, rather than ordering another MRI (given the significant change in symptoms) he recommended more steroid injections. He did mention the possibility of minor surgery (Discectomy / Laminectomy), but advised on injection treatment. I got the second round of injections, which were extremely painful and made me feel worse. At this point I found a surgeon in Boston for a second opinion. Upon seeing the seriousness of my conditions, Boston Doc immediately ordered a new MRI which inevitably showed my disc was completely herniated and crushing my sciatic nerve (he also reviewed my original MRI and showed me the pre-existing herniation that had already existed before my injury, which was missed by Dr. B at PBOA). Boston Doc urged for immediate surgery, as nerve damage had already started to take effect in the form of partial loss of function in my left leg. I ultimately had an MIS TLIF (lumbar fusion surgery) from Boston Doc, and am finally on my way to recovery, though the nerve damage took a lasting toll. I urge any future patients here to challenge their Doctor's initial diagnoses and ensure they are getting the full dedication of their provider, especially when injuries are serious and need immediate resolution. Dr B at PBOA was kind and seemed genuine, but I feel that there were key pieces missing from the process, which ended up being extremely detrimental to my health. Edit: 2 years later I’m still in pain from this injury and wish it could’ve just been diagnosed correctly before things got much worse.

Experience was great. Called in morning to get an appointment and was able to see a DR that afternoon. The staff was very friendly and caring. Got checked out and DR gave me a follow up appointment and a prescription for physical therapy. I wouldn't hesitate to call Plymouth Bay again and would definitely recommend to anyone who needs Orthopedic examination to give them a call. 5 star plus review!
