I had my first visit at Somerville Family Dental and it was truly exceptional. The staff was welcoming, professional and attentive from start to finish. Dr Shaji explained all the X-ray exams results to me step by step. The office is clean, modern, and well organized, which added an overall comfort to the experience. I felt like they generally cared about my total dental health. I highly recommend this dental practice to anyone looking for a top-notch dental care. Juliet

This is the best dental office I have ever been to. Everyone is kind and caring, the procedures are as painless as possible, and they are always there in an emergency. Dr. Nick is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and kind. Unlike my previous dentist, he never tries to upsell me on unnecessary procedures, and always prioritizes my health.

I had a dental emergency recently, and I was very impressed with the service I received. They were able to accommodate me right away, and the customer service was impeccable. The facility was also very impressive. During my appointment, they took the time to thoroughly explain everything to me and even showed me what my previous doctor had done incorrectly. It was a wonderful experience overall, and the prices were very reasonable. I will be sure to update my review once I have my procedure done.

I could not recommend Somerville Family Dental more. I struggle with pretty severe dental anxiety and fear and Dr Nick and the staff here are so accommodating and extremely kind. Over the years i’ve slacked pretty bad on keeping up with dentist visits due to my anxiety and negative experiences at dentists in the past and not once have I ever felt judged or made to feel ashamed here. It feels so amazing to be back on the right track with my dental hygiene and I know Dr Nick and the staff have been essential to this process being so smooth. If you have similar struggles as I do please come here, they will take care of you.

Literally could not have wished for a better dentist. I’m trans, have a lot of anxiety, and have had a string of unpleasant dental experiences. From day 1 they did everything perfectly. They actually read and replied to my emails and text messages incredibly quickly and helpfully (when their competitors largely did not even offer either). They were able to give me an approximate quote before my dental implant before committing to anything or scheduling paid examinations. The price was also quite competitive for the Boston area. All of the staff were incredibly nice and professional. Always upbeat, helpful, quick, and not an once of judgement (which isn’t a guarantee when you’re a goth trans girl). I was never even briefly misgendered or deadnamed (despite a still fairly androgynous face/voice and a non-updated legal name). Finally my dentist himself was the star of the show. He was always extremely quick, careful, kind, gentlemanly, knowledgable, and every other good thing you could want. He always was sure to watch for the mildest hint of discomfort and would make sure I was doing well. He always double or triple checked his work thoroughly. He was always eager to answer as many questions as I could think of. I felt like he cared, I felt like he never tried to upsell me, and I felt the more comfortable than I ever thought I could at a dentist. My dental implant is now fully done and I love it. He color matched it perfectly (and even offered to let me pick the exact shade if I disagreed with his choice) and I will be back for any other dental work I ever need for my days in Boston. 1000/10. I have been going to Somerville family Dental since it opened! Excellent dentist and have been so helpful in helping me feel confident in my oral health and smile! Dr. Nick is the best. So personable and friendly! All the staff is that way! Unfortunately I moved too far and have to look for another dentist nearer to home. I can only hope it's as good as Somerville Family Dental!!!

I havent had a lot of luck at the dental office but I am so glad I found Dr Nick and Joanne. I am so happy with the way they take care of my teeth here. They are very friendly and respectful. I recommend this place to everyone I know. Thank you Somerville Family Dental.

My favorite dentist, incredible service!

So, I was hesitant to write this review but I feel that it's needed. Although this place has mostly great reviews, my experience with Dr. Nick was a horrible one. -It is clear that Dr. Nick only cares about money. In fact, you have to pay in advance for all services before you are seen. -The office has a very "sterile" feel. It doesn't have a cozy, welcoming feel. (This may not bother everyone but it definitely bothered me!) -Dr. Nick rushed my procedure and got frustrated when I asked to take a break. I found Dr. Nick fake, condescending, money hungry, and arrogant. Please note this review is based on my experience only.

They took great care of me, and were honest about which teeth really needed filling. Im sad that im moving away and i cant keep them as my dentist! Friendly, attentive staff and clean space.
