List of Mass. Eye And Ear, Stoneham - Eye Center's Reviews
I had a very poor experience with the billing department after my previous visit. Assigning a diagnosis of myopia during a routine eye exam—especially for a person who, according to your own provider, has 100% vision—is both incompetent and absurd. It appears that no one is even reviewing the medical records.
The staff here is by far the kindest and most compassionate I have ever encountered. They were patient and provided excellent care. My only concern is as a new patient I should have been told my eyes would be dilated, and what that meant. I was given the drops with no explanation and nothing mentioned. I left the building and learned the hard way how bad light would be, I didnt have sunglasses or a ride prepared nor was I warned at any point I would need them. That said, the way I was treated was so phenomenal I would still recommend it, and will continue to seek care here.
I've been to a few eye places and I like these folks the best. They are always friendly to me and answer all my questions in a way I can easily understand, addressing all my concerns and explaining the reasons for certain things like why my eyes water when coming in or going outside. Due to the new location, they are still ironing out a few things so when it came to parking (there is plenty of it) some of the old signs that are up confused me but I suspect the next time I go, this will already be addressed and dolled up. The garage does have low clearance so if you have a huge vehicle, find off street parking.
This morning I had my annual check up at Mass Eye and Ear. I want to preface this review by saying that my eye sight has never been very good. Minus 7 in one eye and minus 5.5 in the other. Nicole was wonderful this morning. She mentioned she recently came over from a Medford office. She did an amazing job of patiently taking me through all of the eye tests which I appreciated!! Never having good eyesight can be frustrating but Nicole probably made this as comfortable and stress free as possible. And Dr Vassan is excellent. He is extremely knowledgeable and I greatly appreciate being able to see him in the Stoneham office on an annual basis. A couple years ago I had an emergency related to a retina problem and Dr Gong treated me twice to successfully resolve the issue. I can’t say enough about the Mass Eye team in Stoneham. We are fortunate to have such a great group of doctors in the area.
Worst staff I have ever seen in my whole life. Attitude!! I was struck on the traffic and made a call that I was going to be a little late so I made a call to let them know it and they said 15 minutes would be ok and I rushed to be there within that time frame but reached 2 minutes late and the First Lady staff accepted me but the 2nd one whom I have spoken over the phone came and asked her to cancell it. So rude and so mean!!! I would never go to this location. Very uncooperative staff at front desk.
Absolutely horrible wait times in the ER.
I’ve been going here for three years now and getting good advice from my doctor. When I finally had surgery, I could not have had a better experience. The team here is outstanding. Every single nurse in this hospital is as kind and as proficient in their field as anyone could be. The doctors are wonderful, but everyone who has been in the hospital for any length of time knows that you see the nurses and the nurse aids the most frequently. They and they support staff are the people who make this hospital they wonderful place that it is. Thank you so much for being here.
Try and cancel an appointment takes an act of God. I spoke to someone in registration, and I could not understand what she was telling me. I was transferred to another department and remained on hold for quite some time. I may have to go in person just to cancel an appointment. I think they need to revise their way of making and canceling appointments.
Mass Eye & Ear truly lived up to their world class expectations. Special touches were: the Chaplin walking around talking to parents and kids while they waited, extensive playrooms, and the KINDEST and chillest team of care professionals. They really made what could have been a stressful situation very grounding. Extra shout out to Dr. Namiranian for coming in on her day off for our son and a couple of other kiddos that needed the surgery sooner than the schedule allowed for booking. Alyssa at Dr. Namiranian was also so kind, patient, timely in responses, and thorough. The intake floor at Mass Eye & Ear became our son’s playground and he made himself very comfortable crawling around to say 👋 to everyone waiting for surgery and was quite comfortable lunging at nurses for hugs and tours around the ward. He partied right up until heading into the OR and only had about 15mins of confusion post-op. He has some healing to do, but we are truly thankful and blessed. 🙏 THANK YOU, Mass Eye & Ear!
This is about the Hearing Center in Wellesley. Dr Sarah Hesseltine is an excellent audiologist, but the Hearing Center is a ripoff and a thief. Cost of aid $784. Not too awful. Then there are the FEES. Fitting fee $240, dispensing fee $330, conformity evaluation $90, electroacoutstic evaluation of hearing aid $60. Total fees $720. Total cost $1,504. Okay, my hearing is bad, but I do know when I am being robbed.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
