List of Edward F. Mccarthy's Reviews
I don’t usually do these reviews but this office was very accommodating and worked hard to fit me in on a Friday when they were jam packed with appointments. And I really appreciated it because I very much needed it. Good people. Good doctor.
Always the best care and service here, offering the newest technology and equipment. Highly recommend
Very friendly doctor! Would highly recommend. The woman who helped me pick out glasses was also very friendly & helpful. I felt like I made a good decision on my glasses.
This is regarding the optometry apprentice technician, Eric. I called at 8:30 a.m. for emergency repair to an elderly relative's broken eyeglass frames. Eric responded immediately and we were at the office before 10. Eric was pleasant, understanding and most helpful, quickly able to find a new pair of frames to fit the existing lenses, as well as identifying other, older eyeglasses my relative had, in terms of prescription strength, so that we could determine whether they were still useful. EXCELLENT service!
RUDE STAFF, NO SANITATION
No Sanitation, Very RUDE STAFF
Very Un Professional, RUDE STAFF.
Worse PLACE To ATTEND. STAFF Is very UN Professional. They don’t follow the HIPPA LAW once a pt leaves they start talking about them. NO sanitation with Codvi surging they should be disinfecting after each patient
Worst eye doctor experience in a long time. They could not get prescription right and I had to get a new prescription and new glasses after the initial exam and the initial glasses. That the eye prescription was done by a nurse and not a doctor seems unusual in my experience and may have been a contributing factor. Nor did they manage to bill my vision insurance as one would expect when seeing an eye doctor. Instead they insist that this quite routine eye exam was instead a 'medical' eye exam that needs to go to my medical insurance where I face higher deductibles. Finally, they failed to alert me that they are out-of-network for my vision insurance and are only in network for my medical insurance - so regardless of how this ultimately will end up getting billed (vision vs medical plan), I'll likely be saddled with meaningfully higher costs than the $10 copay I was expecting given my vision insurance. In general I would expect any eye doctor to (1) check whether they are in-network for the vision insurance, not the medical insurance when asked whether they are an in-network provider, (2) bill routine eye exams to vision insurance, and (3) not mess up a simple prescription for glasses. They failed on all three items. Stay away.
Had cataract surgery on both eyes. Opted to pay extra to have vision corrected at same time and get rid of my glasses. After surgery, astigmatism appeared, which was not seen prior. Now I have 2 different prescriptions for glasses and no resolution to this issue.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
