List of Eric Putnoi's Reviews
With Dr Putnoi I had great confidence and results. I was not an easy case either. I can see again. I can’t believe it. Omg go here. ….
Dr. Putnoi’s initial exam at his office in Wellesley was very thorough from the eye measurements, scan, vision acuity test and the meeting explaining the surgery. I had both eyes done one week apart and they operations were successful. The team is very well organized and there are no surprises. I highly recommend Dr. Putnoi.
Putnoi Eye Care I was a patient of Boston Eye Institute, after Dr. Richard Domfeld had worked hard for many years he decided to retire he referred me to Putnoi Eye Care Dr. Putnoi and his staff from day one made me feel I was part of their extended family. After my first appointment, I knew this was the right doctor for me. He was confident, relaxed, informative and reassuring. I was also impressed ...
I woke up with floating black spots in my vision. When I looked it up online it said I should get it looked at quickly in case it was a tear in my retina. I pinged my PC and they connected me with Dr. Putnoi's office within an hour. His incredible assistant called me and arranged a call and then a visit in the next hour. This is during Covid! I went in and they had all of the correct safety protocols and were very friendly. The evaluation was thorough and the visit was a great success. Best eye doc I have ever been to.
My first (and last) visit involved waiting an hour in crowded room resembling a bus station more than a doctor's office. When I was called I thought to see the doctor, but no, this ride was just beginning. 1st stop was a tiny room yet somehow they managed to have two chairs in there with one man already waiting; I knew it would be a while. Eventually I was moved to a second room, answered questions & 20 mins later saw the dr. He said not to wear my contacts for a few days. "NEXT IN LINE!"
After waiting three weeks, I arrived at my appt for laser treatment of ingrown eyelashes (trichiasis). I waited an hour, then I see Dr. Putnoi & he asks me what I am there for! I tell him the laser treatment to remove the irritating eyelashes. He tells me the technician who does this is not in the office & wanted me to reschedule after waiting three weeks! (And by the way, there is still an office visit charge for today.) No thanks, I'll just find a better ophthalmologist.
I was seen by Dr. Eric Putnoi for a routine eye exam which is normally covered by my health insurance. Dr. Putnoi told me my eye exam was normal. About 3 weeks later I received a bill for over $700.00 because it said I had "pre-cataracts" as a finding during my routine exam. I fought this and I did not have to pay out of pocket. All of a sudden Dr. Putnoi decided it was a routine exam and my insurance did cover all of it. I feel badly for patients who don't know they don't have to be treated this way. I can't imagine how many times he writes down notes and bills for services that the patient is not aware of during the exam....sad.
Dr. Putnoi is a caring and compassionate doctor who gives the time to provide "world class" eye care to his patients. He is easy to talk to and understands the concerns that one may have prior to surgery. I have had him perform cataract surgery on both of my eyes and the results are fabulous! I see better at night than I have ever seen in my lifetime. Dr. Putnoi is the best!
I don't think you'll find a better ophthalmologist than Dr. Putnoi. He is excellent in every regard
as good as they come.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
