List of Newton-Wellesley Physicians - Primary Care's Reviews
Let me start by saying, I love Dr. Eletriby. She has been by PCP for over 6 years, and I had nothing but positive experiences with her. That said, I -- like everyone else -- am so saddened by the state of our healthcare system. After getting a new insurance provider via my new job, I called to ask for a referral after I discovered I was newly pregnant. I was told that this practice wasn't contracted with my new insurance, and that they could neither see me nor write/fax a referral to another provider. So, at 8 weeks pregnant, I was booted out of this practice and told to get on a months-long waiting list somewhere else. They told me that there was nothing else they could do for me and to call back only if I got different insurance, and basically not to let the door hit me on the way out. So disappointed....
Due to my PCP leaving the practice, I have been trying to find a new PCP and how sad our healthcare system is. I heard this office was taking new patients. I am disgusted. I called 6 times before a human being answered the phone. Every time I called the person did not pickup they just immediately put me on hold without acknowledging that they picked up the call. If this is how they operate, why does anyone want to go to them? This is disgusting and unprofessional. Out world is going to hell in a hand basket and it starts with people who operate their businesses like this. I miss the old days when customer service was a thing. Don't worry, I am in healthcare, I will be spreading the word that this is not an office anyone should go to.
What happened to the emergency department? For years and years my family and I have been coming here and over the past few months, It's been a disaster! Nobody seems to be in charge or care about the conditions in the waiting area. When I complained to the ER physician who saw us after several hours, he apologized but admitted to being apathetic and said that they got rid of the person who was running the department for political reasons and hired somebody who never shows up and has very little experience running an ER. What is wrong here? They said they felt like they were drowning there. This used to be such a great place to bring my family members, but our last two visits over the past six months, have been horrendous! And as an aside, my family members have been Newton Wellesley donors for a while. No more! Is there a Board of Directors or trustees at Newton Wellesley who actually do anything? Do they question these decision decisions made by top administration? The nurses seemed checked out as well, I can hardly blame them!
I’ve been seeing Dr. Shrager and Audrey Warner, PA, and have had nothing but positive experiences. Most recently, I saw Audrey for my annual exam, and she was both thorough and compassionate. As a gynecologist myself, I can say with confidence that her pelvic exam technique was excellent—very gentle and well-done. Overall, their team is thoughtful, caring, and knowledgeable. I always feel that my concerns are taken seriously, and that I’m in capable hands.
I highly, highly recommend Newton Wellesley Hospital! I just had a hip replacement surgery. From the surgery with Dr. Kyle Alpaugh, MD to the excellent care I received, I could not have received better care! I am so grateful to all!
I guess I'm used to the old fashioned doctor. You know the kind of doctor where they look at you and not at a computer to decide your fate. Maybe ten years ago I was overweight but honestly do I look like that now? Yes I'm older but to use that as an excuse for denial of certain treatments doesn't help. Taking 2 Tylenol and tough it out is an obscene remedy. No wonder some seniors are resorting to pain killers and CBD products.
Unfortunately, NWH Emergency Department only has one ER Attending Doctor not only familiar, but capable to care for patients with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and severe Chemical Sensitivity. Ignorance and unwillingness to read a patient’s lengthy tests, diagnoses and critical treatments may be “life threatening” per MGB documents readily available to NWH medical staff. Sadly, there’s little to no other options when emergency care is needed.
The quality of primary care physicians here is exceptional (or at least that has been the case for me). Dr. Ali Tirmizi has been compassionate, knowledgeable and thorough in his assessments. I owe him my life for diagnosing a mass as cancer during a routine physical. The receptionists are a bit loud at times and not the friendliest, but I've otherwise had good experiences here.
The front desk staff is rude and they deserve zero stars. A little empathy goes a long way and they act like you are a bother.
Absolutely horrific experience regarding my early 90’s mother. The bottom line is respect and dignity in care is ageless and that has not been demonstrated.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
