List of Andrew B. Chertoff Md's Reviews
Dr Chertoff did a complete tendon reattachment on my right elbow in 1993. Every other Dr at the time told me I was crazy to do so but him. Now in 2022 I think it's the only joint that doesn't bother me. I knew he specialized in hand surgery then and am now considering going back to him for arthritis and trigger finger in both hands.
3 visits and all of them were unprofessional. The initial visit where they put the cast on my son's arm was horrendous. Dr Chertoff and a female doctor were arguing in front of me and my son. The female doctor asked for more padding around his thumb and I watched this grown man swat the hand of his assistant away. That padding ended up being needed because my poor son fought a blister for almost 5 weeks. He's wildly unprofessional and really seems to not care. He also looks extremely sloppy. The initial visit was about 15 minutes and the other two visits were roughly 5 to 7 minutes at the absolute most. They charge you a ridiculous amount just to be seen and none of that goes to the actual treatment. It's almost $200 for an "encounter" fee. Honestly I don't think I would care about the cost if he actually asked questions or seemed to care at all. If you break something I highly recommend finding someone else for a cast. He is not a kind or compassionate doctor even if it's a small child. I believe he has lost his bedside manner. Time to retire when you treat a child that broke their first bone like he was an inconvenience.
He has zero bedside manners and when I requested a boot instead of a cast for my foot, he was annoyed and told me no and that I can leave if I have a problem with it. He didn’t give me any advice on how to get around or how to get out of my shower safely. He rushed me out even though I had other questions. As soon as I got in the car, I could tell my cast didn’t fit right. It was tight & way more constricting than my previous casts. A few hours go by and my toes are numb, my foot is turning blue & im in more pain than I was when I felt it literally break. I call back to have it loosened and I’m told he’s gone for the day. Feeling desperate, I call a different orthopedic. I’m seen right away. He apparently had it so tight I was losing circulation. I’m also eligible for a boot which is what I initially requested and they said it’s not right that I wasn’t offered the choice to begin with. He ruined my entire day by his poor work and attitude. Will not be returning or recommending.
I fell down the stairs In May. It took 6 weeks, 3 xrays and an mri to find the break in my foot. At my next visit with him he said, "theres nothing I can do for you now. It's been too long." And said," you should be better by now". But gave me no excercises, instructions, or anything. It's now been 11 weeks since my fall. My broken foot is still swollen and painful to the touch. I will never, ever go see this dr again! I may never walk again because he didn't do his job.
Dr. Chertoff was very professional and quick. I dislocated my ankle and broke my tibia slipping on ice. I saw him the next morning and he got me into surgery right away. The whole staff was super comforting since it all happened so fast. I have many pins, screws and a plate in my ankle. I am now 4 1/2 months post surgery and I have had no huge problems just the typical swelling and occasional pain. I was able to walk and drive again a week after cast removal. He was quick with appointments but he would answer any question I had and made sure I knew what I needed to know. I would highly recommend him in a heartbeat. His staff is also great and very kind.
I was treated by Dr. Chertoff for a distal radius (wrist) fracture. My impression is that he is an excellent, highly experienced doctor. The ends of the broken bone were bent away from each other. Four days after the fracture, Dr. Chertoff set it. While he advised me beforehand that the bones might not stay aligned, in which case surgery would still be necessary, everything stayed in place very neatly. After weekly X-rays and check ups, three weeks after the fracture Dr. Chertoff replaced the splint by a cast. This stayed on another three weeks. Two days after the cast came off my right wrist, I was able to drive (a manual transmission) and perform other light tasks with my right hand. It has now been one week since cast removal, and my wrist looks, feels and works practically normal, although obviously the muscles still need strengthening. Apart from the succesful treatment, Dr. Chertoff was always reassuring, realistic, and above all, very friendly. His staff is also very friendly. Thank you to Dr. Chertoffs practice and Noble Hospital for a job very well done!
Well he’s known by reputation and I was a bit leary but he was fantastic! Nothing negative! Got my daughter healed up in no time and was friendly and punctual. Staff was great too! Give him a chance!
I recently took a fall ending up with my left wrist broken and my right wrist needing surgery. Dr. Chertoff came highly recommended by the people I knew. And I must say he lived up to his reputation. Experienced and friendly staff helped a bad experience into a tolerable one. I want to thank Dr Chertoff and his staff for exceptional care.
Went to Dr. chertoff with a wrist injury. He was very helpful and great staff
I recently saw Dr Chertoff for fractures to my left foot. I live in Florida and scheduled a trip to Massachusetts prior to my injury. My orthopedic doctor in Florida would not clear me to travel unless I could find an orthopedic doctor to do x-rays while I was away, as my Doctor in Florida wanted weekly x-rays. I called a few orthopedic offices but could not get an appointment. I called Dr. Chetoff’s office and was given an appointment. The staff was very friendly. Dr. Chetoff was excellent. He went over the x-rays with me and made sure I understood the severity of my fractures. I would definitely recommend him.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
