I saw Dr McAlear last year after seeing several ophthalmologists who weren’t interested or able to help me. Dr McAlear took the time to listen to me, asked questions nobody else had and explained his thoughts. The new glasses he prescribed for me have solved my issues. I have never had a better experience at an eye appointment.

Fairly new to the South Shore Dr. McAlear was the 4th optometrist we have been to in three years. He was the first to take the time to truly listen to the challenges my daughter (12yo) was having with her vision. He made extra time to perform detailed testing to determine what she needed. He was informative, explaining the purpose of various assessments making her feel at ease. I also admire his willingness to refer to other disciplines as appropriate. No hard sales for glasses, and offered a nice selection. So thankful my friend referred us to his office. Thank you Dr. Tom, so refreshing to find good clinicians who truly practice to help others!!
