List of Gary Pransky's Reviews
I have never dealt with a less professional physician. He lacks empathy and rushes people out the door, belittles symptoms and ailments, if not dismissing them altogether, and is impossible to get ahold of when needed. It is impossible to refill prescriptions, I spend days every month calling and calling trying to get my refill sent to the pharmacy, the pharmacy would send mutiple requests, and he would not fill them. Not that it should matter - but this is for an SSRI, which you can't just not take and be okay. If not for the convenience of this practice I would've left years ago, and frankly I tolerated it for too long. It's easy to convince yourself as the patient that you're over-reacting to a negative experience with a doctor - don't do that. This is a bad doctor.
I have been going to Dr Pransky for over 30 years! I dread the day he retires. My whole family goes to him as well. I disagree with the comment on his office staff being pushy. His office staff is awesome! BIG shout out to Anne and Elaine who Ive known since I was a kid! Always a pleasure dealing with them. Also for the comment on running out of medication - all you have to do is call and let him know you need a refill! Ive never ran out of one medication and I am on quite a few! I feel so comfortable when going for my visits! Dr Pransky and whole staff are awesome!
I’m feeling very frustrated today. The pharmacist at Walgreens has tried contacting this office 5x to refill a prescription. Today I decided to call myself with the dread of waiting on hold for God only knows how long. It’s almost to the point that I don’t want ti deal with it anymore. This is unacceptable. Not a good way to keep ur patient. I’m a new patient of Dr. Pransky. I was referred to him by my good friend. I have no issues with him directly. Elaine Faro Please hire someone to answer your phones!
I can't believe anyone would have anything negative to say about Dr. Pransky's office or his staff. All the nurses are extremely friendly and the NP's as well. I have been a patient for many years. The staff truly care about the patients. Dr. Pransky, Bridget, and Sara are extremely thorough and go above and beyond to make sure their patients are taken care of. My entire family have also been patients of this office for years. Just this week I was very ill and had no idea what was wrong. I had symptoms I had never had before. I got an appointment right away both days I needed to be seen. I saw all 3 of them and they ran every test and came up with an answer for me quickly. I also had Covid months back and someone from the office called me every 2 days to check up on me and make sure I was okay. During the months Covid was extreme and people weren't really being seen in office they made Zoom appointments extremely easy as well as referrals I needed. I would absolutely refer them to anybody who asked me for a doctor in the area.
I would give ZERO stars if I could. This office is terrible, except for the nurse practitioner, Sara. I can't imagine what it's like for her to work there. My kid's doctor took some time off and we were sent to Dr. Pransky's office by default while she was away. They made a number of things very hard for us - including getting a new referral to a specialist who our previous doctor had already referred us to. The person who I had to speak with was Eileen and she couldn't have been ruder. I see others commented on the staff there also. I feel bad for anyone who goes to this office and would never recommend the office to anyone. I'm going to suggest that the office check out their reviews on Yelp and maybe they will think twice about their service.
Has been my Doc for years and has taken good care of me always!
Constantly has pushy secretary that continues to pressure everyone to come in the office even though they do zoom calls. And let’s his patients run out of meds, meds they can’t run out of... that would make them suicidal potentially
I love this place . Couldn’t ask for more at a dr office. Dr and NP Jessica are so attentive. Address every concern stay on top of your medical. And Anne and Elaine are the sweetest
I am new to this practice and can’t say enough about their professionalism & clinical expertise. The front desk staff are very friendly & helpful. Jessica, Nurse Practioner, is professional and highly skilled. Her clinical knowledge is extraordinary and critical thinking skills superior. I highly recommend this practice. Thank you
UPDATED: Since I did not see any way to post a new review, here goes: I will say Jessica Bettons manner has GREATLY improved. No longer feel rushed, impersonal. This goes a long way with me. Thank you Jessica for hearing my concerns and addressing them! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Original Review: This review is regarding Jessica Betton, N.P. @ Dr. Gary Pransky's office in Winthrop, MA. I attempted to find a reviews page for her directly but couldn't find one. Sadly I must leave this unfavorable review on Dr. Pransky's page. I initially chose Dr. Pransky's office because I believe in supporting local businesses and for convenience. I ALWAYS found Dr. Pransky pleasant, professional, gentle in his manner and speech, attentive, thorough, engaging. He has a slow, soft speaking voice. He calms me. He reminds me of Mr. Rogers - and that's a very good thing! I felt like I was being examined by someone I can trust and who truly cares about my health concerns. I can say NONE of these things about Jessica Betton. She speaks entirely TOO FAST, she's condescending, she stares at her laptop while conversing with you [while asking you questions regarding why you have come in and throughout my responses], she's impersonal and un[der]engaging. She rushes me through my appts to the point that I forget to discuss or have examined all the concerns I booked the appt for!! You're left with the feeling that it's more about hurrying along to the next patient [cha-ching $$ - cha-ching $$] than about addressing your own health concerns and remedies. If I can no longer be seen by Dr. Pransky directly or a DIFFERENT Doctor/Nurse Practitioner - sadly it may be time to switch doctors offices. Someone either inform Jessica Betton that her bedside manner etc needs vast improvement, or cut her loose and get a better mannered doctor/NP in there!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
