Excellent care and followup. I was derailed when I found out I had breast cancer. I was referred to Dr Markus initially by the imaging center that found and discovered the tumor. But my OB/GYN who orders my annual mammogram gave her a glowing review and said I would be well taken care of. We spent an hour in my initial meeting with her where she clearly and methodically and with great detail reviewed the biopsy results with me, and explained my options, how surgery would go, recovery and followup treatment. I learned so much in that initial meeting and she helped put my fears and concerns to rest. The staff gave me a breast binder which had business cards and referrals to radiation and medical oncologists, pathology and lab reports and all the notes from our meeting. I went into surgery well armed with information and increased positivity about my prognosis. Dr Markus and her staff, Mayra and Selenia were so helpful, kind and professional. Highly recommend this practice!
Simply one of the best doctors I have ever had. Detailed explanations that I can understand, compassionate care, expert surgeon.
it was several years ago, this doctor suggested me to have a surgery. I then visited 2nd opinion specialist who told me nothing wrong w/ me and definitely no surgery needed.
Dr Markus explained the process clearly and thoroughly so that I had a good idea of what my options were. This made it easier to make decisions and I was confident that I would be getting the treatment I needed.
Dr Markus is Personable, very knowledgeable, and an excellent teacher when telling you about your treatment options.
Dr. Markus performed both a lumpectomy and bilateral mastectomy on me. She did a fabulous job explaining everything throughout the testing and results, surgeries and recovery. She provided me with all the information I needed to understand and make appropriate decisions about my health care. Her staff is also wonderful. I highly recommend her.
There is no respect and dignity when it comes to service and miniorities breast care !
My wife has been Doctor Markus patient since 2012. When the biopsy showed that cancer was present, we went in for a detailed explanation of what she faced and the options available. We went into her office and sat across her desk. Neither my wife or I had ever spent that much time with a doctor. We were both over 70 years old at the time. If a doctor talks to you for 5 minutes, is average. If they go past 10, you are really lucky. We spent nearly an hour with the most detailed explanation ever.
I have a referral from my Dr to see her but when the receptionist finally answer the phone after so many tries I made, she kept asking me why I need to see the doctor I told her why but still she kept asking it looked I like I was under integration well she put me on hold and forgot all about me by the way this my first time revue in a doctor but I am mad
Dr. Markus was recommended for me in 1999 when I first had breast surgery, and my experience with her was so good that I sought her out to review my latest mammogram for her advice. At this point she has done 2 biopsies and sent me for MRI. She is very thorough. She has quickly gotten me in for each of these procedures, and will see me in less than a week for discussion of likely mastectomy and what will be needed for treatment afterward. She is thorough, kind, reassuring, was very kind and professional to speak with my family immediately after both biopsies. She has told me to call her any time with any questions and has gotten back to me very soon when I did need to do that. I am extremely pleased with the reassuring way she is handling my care.
Dismissed my concerns and questions. After surgery, when I got a bad infection, couldnt get appointment to check it out. I had to change doctors.
I have had fibroadioma since I was 20. A few weeks ago one started hurting. After a mamagram and ultrasound I was given a list of doctors and I chose Dr. Markus because she was located at shady grove hospital. Her receptionist got me in for an appoint within a few days, as soon as the doctor was done reviewing the films I was brought back into an exam room. The office does look a little dated but it functions well. Dr. Markus gave me multiple options and let me decide on how to procede forward. I chose to have the tumor removed. Her hospital coordinator called me the next day and had a surgical date for me the following week. Dr. Markus was punctual , she made small talk with my family. When I was wheeled back into the OR she checked on me , made sure I was comfortable. My family to me when the surgery was done she spoke to them about the surgery and the expected recovery.
I had surgery with Dr Markus. She was incredible impatient to answer any questions, didnt spend enough time during my visits, and after surgery provided minimal feedback about how to care for the incision. I developed a bad infection while traveling abroad and when I came back I tried to get an appointment to assess how the breast healed from the infection, her first appointment was 10 days later. She is uncaring, her staff is unprofessional and rude, and I will never go back to see her.
