List of Medstar Shah Medical Group At Annapolis Endocrinology Medical Center's Reviews
Very surprised at the negative responses because I have never, ever had a problem with this practice. Have been going here since diagnosed in 2001. The doctors - Dr. Cantero (until practice was sold), and Dr. Makonnen - have a very good "chairside manner." Attentive and I never felt rushed when I had questions. The front desk have been pleasant as well. Only negative I have to say is I wasn't informed when the practice went corporate.
The doctor was fantastic! Near impossible to get someone to answer the phone, no less than 20 minutes waiting for someone to pick up if they ever do. took three days of calling last time to get an answer. The front desk person was either having a bad day or just hasn't learned to at least acknowledge people. Just let me stand there for a while until I saw the small sign to sit down then she spoke to me. Others came in after me and she acknowledged them immediately, before they sat. First time there so I hadn't had a chance to offend her yet.
This medical group consistently has the worst front office staff possible. They are rude and ignorant people who have no care or concern for patients. I do not know how they do it so badly year after year.
Dr. Sharma is absolutely wonderful and a true gem. She is empathetic, caring, kind and compassionate. I feel seen, listened too, heard and appreciated and mattered, when I visit her. I am so grateful for her! And all that she does and has too do. So grateful our paths have crossed and that she is my doctor and their for me. Thank you Doctor Sharma!
Tried calling for almost an hour (from 3:30 to 4:20). First they picked up after holding 10 min. Acting as though they couldn’t hear me and they hung up. Then on hold each time after for 10-15 min listening to recording saying all busy. Ha that’s a laugh. You close at 4:30 and I think the phone is ignored or turned on night mode and would never be answered. Trying to get results from biopsy done over a week ago!!!! !!!!! Lousy service.
Very annoyed with office staff in the Annapolis office. Routine prescription refill mysteriously altered causing me unnecessary trips & calls to pharmacy and calls to the office. No apologies just excuses & cover-ups which don’t help my confidence in dealing with this staff. Prince Frederick office is way more professional & to -date reliable. I’m usually very understanding of mishaps, especially during Coronavirus era but enough is enough.
Literally the worst doctors office I have ever had the displeasure of working with. Lost appointment time two days in a row (with no apology and said I never had one even when I said I had the appointment reminder card in my hand), send bills with the wrong billing codes, and when you call to correct it they'll pass you back and forth between people hoping you'll forget and just pay the higher amount. It took me a month of emails and calls before they would even acknowledge my issue and said I could sign up for a payment plan! For something I was billed incorrectly for! I am genuinely shocked at how bad this place is and that it continues to treat people. Please do not go here. Jasmine is probably the worst office manager in existence. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.
Awful! If I could rate them a 0 I would. If you value your health pass on this group as they take patients for granted . The front desk and staff answering the phone needs customer service training. The nurses need to work with the doctors so they get the prescriptions CORRECT. I've called and complained and been hung up on. OUTRAGEOUS! I have had my insulin sent to CVS with the wrong dosage and no pen needles .....twice!. I've had vials prescribed and sent to the pharmacy when I use the pens. I've never used vials nor know how to dispense my insulin in that manner. Someone is not paying attention to my chart. I've been told one thing from Dr. Cohen and then another from the nurse. The confusion is ridiculous. I've complained to Dr. Cohen and nothing has changed. They don't take diabetes seriously and how critical it is for patients to get the right dosage and correct prescriptions. Isn't that basic for a doctor's office? Shouldn't the supporting staff answer the phone without attitude? My appointments have been cancelled due to the office staff losing my referrals twice. I'm wore out! The last televisit that I had with Dr. Cohen she said I didn't need to take notes because her assistant would send me the appointment notes and new dosages. What did I receive? Just the lab slips. I knew I wouldn't receive the appoinment notes or new dosage information. It's awful! There is a breakdown of communication between the staff/nurses/and doctors. I don't know what is going on but my health is too important to continue to work with this practice. If you value your health pass on this medical group as they are awful.
I too went here expecting the worst, but it turned out to be the best. I have been there 5 or more times now and have never waited for more than 5 mins in the waiting room or awaiting a doctor in the appointment room. I always show up close to my appointment time and not too early so their schedule is in line with mine. The doctors are great, they turned me from an anxiety filled mess, to a normal human again after I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Whenever I leave the office, I always wonder why the reviews are so poor. The office staff as well as the doctors are very polite, knowledgeable and helpful. I would recommend this place.
I just went yesterday. The receptionist, nurse, and PA-C Grasing are wonderful!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
