MIchael Epstein's Online Review Report Card

It took 3 months to get my first appointment, they called to reschedule because the dr. Himself was having surgery that day. My rescheduled appointment was 2 months later, I then received another phone call Saying the dr. Himself needed another surgery ironically on the same day as my appointment and they needed to reschedule. I don’t understand why this dr. Is accepting new patients, when they can not be seen 6 months to a year later!

Dr. Epstein is really caring. I credit him for being sensitive to my needs and saving my life with anapproachable no nonsense professional attitude. I thank God for him and his staff.Delcine

Dr. Epstein listens to me as a patient. I have found him to be very thorough and responsive. His staff, especially Jackie, is very helpful. I highly recommend Dr. Epstein and this practice.

Went to him in my 20’s with symptoms of weight gain, feeling unwell, vomiting non stop after certain food/drinks etc..was told by him to eat better..he did an endoscopy only..missed a tumor by not doing a colonoscopy..I ended up in ER with same symptoms a year later, was given another drs name at another practice, who suggested I may have A colon blockage and saved my life. I would’ve had stage 4 colon cancer had I not gotten sick again and seemed additional help after being dismissed by dr Epstein. It’s been years since I’ve seen him and I still cringe when I hear his name.

He saved my life and still takes care of me. He is a very talented man.

Dr. Epstein explanations have always been clear and "user friendly" no medical jargon that you have to research to find the answer. After a procedure, you get a written account, often with color pictures included. Follow-up appointments are made in a timely fashion. The office atmosphere is conducive to helping you relax before you see him for appointments.

My husband was diagnosed with c-diff August 10th. We could not get an appointment until September 15 ( by then my husband had lost 10 pounds down to 149). He went through two rounds of antibiotics prescribed by Brittany Dickert. On October 20th my husband was rushed to BWMC with a raging fever (that morning he had been cleared of c-diff). He received a fecal transplant. I do not think that my husband would have been rushed to the hospital had the practice been more aggressive.

The staff aren't that helpful. The nurses and nurse practitioners do 99. % of the work. Poor follow up and health management.

Not at all impressed. I went for an MRI, heard nothing a week after, so I called for the results two days in a row with no call back. Then, three days later, I receive a letter regarding my results. A letter? REALLY?!? It said that something was found and that I should follow up with my gynecologist, of which I do not even have, because I haven't had issues in this area. WOW, terrible way to tell bad news to a patient!

I've been going to him for years. At first he was attentive. I had an easy problem - stress induced stomach pain. I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy and they went well. But then I developed a real problem - I was put on an antibiotic that gave me ibs ( I'm suffering a year later). He ran tests that were all negative, and since he hasn't yet been able to help me, I feel he's given up. He never even mentioned a diet change - I found one that worked through my own research, though it's not 100% effective. I asked about a known treatment and his response was "well, it's more tests." And that was it!!! Never looked into it further. He's regularly more than a half hour late. And he doesn't spend more than 10 minute tops. You're more likely to see the nurse practitioner. Also I told him my symptoms had flared up, and he told me, "well, it looks like you're getting better." It's bizarre. He seems knowledgeable, but if the diagnosis takes effort, he's not interested.
