Informative and caring, gives all the time to go through details, felt in a safe hand
No bedside manner. Rude. Does not communicate well. Shows no empathy. Was made to feel like a nuisance, not a patient. Please do yourself a favor and avoid her at all costs.
Dr. Makkiya wasn’t very patient and didn’t seem to hear my concerns. What she did do was change my antidepressant medication and put me on birth control. (I followed her recommendations against my instincts and regretted it.) I went to a different doctor and resumed my previous medication and felt like myself again.
Dr. Makkiya is not patient and didn’t seem to hear my concerns. What she did do was change my antidepressant medication and put me on birth control. (I followed these recommendations despite my instincts and regretted it.) I went to a different doctor a few months later and switched back to my previous medication and felt like myself again.
I had a miscarriage because of her. I told her I have back pain and she gave me heavy pain killers that resulted in my first miscarriage. I'm currently filling a case to sue her. People like her should stay in their home county and never granted the license to practice in the US. I honestly have no idea how she got her medical license here. She is extremely rude, bitter and angry all the times. I guess that would explain why she is still single with no partner or family.
Stay FAR away from this doctor. She is rude, does not listen to anything you have to say and certainly doesn't take kindly to requests. I went in for an annual gynecology exam and the entire appointment became all about my depression, that I mentioned off hand. She told me I need a psych evaluation and I would be speaking to a counselor before I could leave. What?! And when I requested to have my birth control changed due to extreme cramping, she told me "birth control is actually all the same thing so it wont make a difference..just take 600mg of ibuprofen. You'll be fine." Are you kidding me?! What kind of a doctor are you?? I will never go back. I have never in my life had a doctor so ignorant and so unwilling to listen to my concerns. Not to mention I left there bleeding and in much discomfort from her forcing the speculum into my vagina. AWFUL.
have been dealing with endometriosis for 6 years went to her to see if there were any other options for me but she was more concerned about me taking pain pills due to the fact I just had 2 knee surgeries back to back. She also was more concerned with my psychological state bec I am bipolar. Along with my weight gain from lack of exercise because of being on bed rest from my two knee surgeries. Talk about everything but what to do to help my endometriosis didn’t even give me other options or if it would be possible to outgrown this. The one thing she did was change my birth control. I will never go back, I guess I will have to live with this chronic pain the rest of my life. So much for having a good “ Quality of life “
She's excellent. She's very caring and compassionate along with being very professional and knowledgeable. After delivering three babies naturally with a midwife, I needed a c-section for my fourth. Dr. Makkiya made the process a positive experience. I knew I was in great hands, which helped calm my nerves. She took time to answer all my questions and explain things to me. She made sure I was well taken care of, along with making sure my baby was well taken care of. I would highly recommend her!
Awesome woman

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
