List of Baltimore Va Medical Center : Emergency Room's Reviews
If you have an emergency and want to die, this is the place to go. ER was empty and still waited over 4 hrs just to be seen… mind you there were over 6 nurses there, they all sitting down doing NOTHING… please avoid this place!!
I had to go in on a Sunday. It was quiet and I was processed back to see the Dr. In about 15min. In total I was there about 2.5 hours which is extremely reasonable considering they ran some tests which included labs and waited for all the results before releasing me. I thought the whole staff was great. I really appreciated all the engagement. They had scheduling set up a follow up with my PCP before I left. I know there were a lot of negative reviews on wait times. I recommend 2 things. 1. Call the 24 hour nurse triage line to consult on symptoms before you decide the ER is the right place to go. 2. Understand any walk in place is going to have a wait. Bring a book, tablet or whatever else that can help pass the time while you're waiting and it will pass quickly.
If you have an emergency or you're ill and have to go to an ER for medical help, DO NOT COME HERE! YOU WILL BE WAITING FOR OVER 6 HRS! And they will constantly tell you you're next, when they know damn well you're not! Holidays, so not many ppl, and still waitd all day. The most pitiful VA ER in the DMV area.
They literally just take forever other than that good staff food options and good transportation options to and from different cities
The wait times are abysmal, but God forbid you try and go to a civilian ER and have the VA actually pay the bill.
This is the worst place I’ve been to in my life. My husband’s PCM sent him here for hernia issues and we went on hour 4 just getting sent to the back. So it must not have been that much of an emergency in their eyes, cause here we are still in the exam room 30 minutes later. This is insane.
If I could leave a zero star I would. The wait is crazy, their protocol is not effective for the veterans, and the stuff are rude and lazy. They took my vital 2 times as if, if it changes they will see me sooner. That nurse could have been helping move things along. I went in for skin reaction, and now I am experiencing all kinds of pain and depression. The Va is terrible, it's a shame that it's the only help Veterans have.
I just want to go home. I've been here all day. They got me in for MRIs hours ago and I've been stuck in this little room ever since. I swear they forgot about me. I finally got lunch at 3pm because a nurse came by and I asked to leave. Still can't leave.
Rather die at home then wait a second longer here
Out dated. Short staffed. Doc had to do everything which made waiting time long. Will never go to this ER AGAIN

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
