Dr. J. Fleishman of MedStar Neurology is a prime example of what a compassionate knowledgeable and honest physician should be. It is rare to find a medical professional let alone a specialty physician who has top tier knowledge in their specific medical field as well as superior bedside manner. I have been a patient of Dr. Fleishman for 16+ years now. He has always been compassionate in his care as well as honest about his limitations or knowledge to meet my high level of medical attention. When I have questions or concerns he takes the time to speak with me in depth. If he is uncertain or unaware of how to treat one of my many complex medical conditions he openly says so. In my opinion Dr. Fleishman has saved my life when we first met and has continued to be a key part to my ability to live my best life. One important thing to me that still stumps me to this day is how Dr. Fleishman is able to remember the names and key roles of those in my life! I do not know if he keeps a cheat sheet of this kind of information in my chart but the simple fact that he is able to come into my appointment after six months or 12 months after seeing hundreds of patients that he is able to remember the names of my family and friends and their roles in my life. This alone shows me he does truly care about his patients and having a connection with them. To be blunt but allow Dr. Fleishman’s privacy of his personal life it has continued to touch me over the years how he has had so many medical challenges in his personal life with those he is close to and has continued to come to work to treat patients on a daily basis. I am honestly fearful of the day he chooses to retire because I fully believe there is no other doctor like Dr. Fleishman. I am so grateful to have him as part of my medical treatment treat.

Dr. Fleishman has been my neurologist for many, many years. He is caring, compassionate and has exceptional communication skills. His clinical experience and knowledge is vast. He is available 24/7 for any questions or concerns. He provides phenomenal care and in addition to my doctor, he has become a dear friend!

I felt like I won the lottery 15 years ago when I first met with Dr. Fleishman. After 2 frightening years of trying to get a diagnosis, Dr. Fleishman quickly and correctly identified my issue, addressed it. Since then I've been fortunate to enjoy good health and medical care. Dr. Fleishman is a perfect model for a great physician. He's caring, an excellent communicator, accessible, and treats patients with respect. An excellent communicator, he takes time to explain what is happening. I always leave our visits feeling optimistic and informed. Thank goodness for this exceptional doctor and Franklin Square Hospital for recognizing this great asset.

For 10 years plus, I have relied on his breadth of knowledge in his field. More importantly, his excellent communication skills assure I understand complex issues and leave every appointment feeling optimistic and listened to. His caring nature and commitment to his patients are exceptional. His vast expertise in his field is phenomenal. I consider myself very fortunate to have him as my doctor. He is the model of an optimal doctor, one who listens, is compassionate, and puts his patients as a top priority.

Dr. Fleishman is an exceptional neurologist and I consider myself very fortunate to have him as my doctor. His commitment to his patients is phenomenal. He clearly communicates complex issues, treating them with respect and care. I spent two years trying to get a diagnosis and was extremely grateful and appreciative when he quickly identified and addressed it my medical issues. He clearly has a broad depth of his field. Caring, attentive, very thorough, and highly informed, he is by far the best doctor I have been fortunate to work with.

I have been a patient of Dr. Fleishman for at least 21 years. In that time ,I honestly have never met a Dr. with such desire, and compassion to help someone. I can not give him enough stars for a rating. It would be the highest in every category. Dr. Fleishman has been my neurologist for 20+ years. He is very compassionate in his care, has a great bedside manner and takes the time to listen to you. Dr. Fleishman has been my doctor for 18+ years at Franklin Square Hospital. He has always been professional and knowledgeable. He takes his time out to help me understand, and makes me feel apart of my treatment plan. I can tell him what is going on with me without feeling dismissed. He listens. I am grateful/thankful to have found him. It is rare to find such a caring, compassionate professional doctor. I highly recommend him if looking for a neurologist. He is one of the best.

Amazing, knowledgeable, kind, compassionate, above and beyond ... these are just a few words to describe my favorite doctor. My exams are always thorough and never rushed. I've been a patient since 1999. He is ALWAYS available for questions/issues. I wish all my doctors were as competent and caring as Dr. Fleishman. He's simply the best.
