List of Patrick Hyatt's Reviews
My experience with Dr. Hyatt is one of the worst I have ever had with a physician. I came to Dr. Hyatt because of Mercy's reputation as a caring, Catholic hospital and because he appeared in a video and claimed on the webpage that he enjoyed helping patients with difficult cases find solutions. That did not prove to be the case with me. I booked my appt almost 6 weeks in advance and made clear that I was coming as a follow-up to two hospitalizations related to a possible sliding hiatal hernia. My medical information was uploaded to MyChart and connected with the various doctors reports and tests who treated me and concurred on this diagnosis. Dr. Hyatt burst into the treatment room without a chart and seemed to have no idea who I was. Without calling me by name or introducing himself, he proceeded to spend at least 5 minutes of a 15 minute appt giving me a lecture on why I should have colonoscopy. When I was finally allowed to get a word in, I assured him that I had a colonoscopy. He then asked, "Was it in the last 10 years?" I said yes. Then, without trying to get to me or my history better, he quickly looked at something on his computer, stated my age (incorrectly) and then looked lost after I corrected him. I asked, "Would you like me to tell you why I am here?" I wanted to tell him that I was having difficulty breathing on simple exertion and that my doctors had suggested that the hiatal hernia might be sliding up into the thoracic region and affecting my heart function. As soon as I uttered the words "hiatal hernia", Dr. Hyatt stopped listening to me, and told me he wanted to look at my chart. He left the room to see it, presumably. He then came back and told me there was no way that I had a hiatal hernia and that my chart said I had an umbilical hernia and it was too small to cause trouble. He said I had a blocked bowel and to take a stool softening laxative. He would not listen to any attempt I made to tell him he had not read all of the CT Scans of my chest and abdomen; two of the three covered the thorax and address the hiatal hernia; he only looked at one that did not. He then said I should come back for an endoscopy. When I wrote to him later to tell him he had not seen all, he was again arrogantly rude and stated that he had read the one he saw twice and I do not have a hiatal hernia. My breathlessness exascerbated subsequent to the visit and was given an immediate appt with my primary. She fully examined me (which Dr Hyatt never did), did an EKG twice, and ascertained an irregular rhythm that she believes is secondary to a sliding hernia. I am now going to see a cardiac specialist and a gastroenterological surgeon. Dr. Hyatt showed no regard for me as a patient and did not practice appropriate standards of care in my case. I hope it is not because I am an elderly black woman. Other errors: told me I had a BMI of 30; my BMI is 26. Never told me my vital signs. Did not appear to want to touch me in any way. What a horrible physician. I hope he has not cost me my life.
as far as I am concerned he saved my life from a disease that could have killed me had it been gone undiagnoised good person
I liked Dr Hyatt and thought he knew what he was talking about. But you can forget about ever getting a call back. I called 3 times in one week, then I decided to switch
Very highly recommend
Swallow Study: All assisting were just so pleasant and helpful. I was in & out in a dash. Dr. Patrick Hyatt couldn't have been nicer, & his team was just so pleasant. Aside from being a little chilly, not a negative to be found. Thank you. Patricia Hopkins
He and his office staff were wonderful to deal with. He ran the necessary tests, and once a medical emergency came up, he and his staff were quick to get me in, diagnose the issue and fix the problem! He and his office were very easy to reach by phone. Highly recommend!
Best Doctor in the area - hands down. Would recommend without hesitation
Dr. Hyatt diagnosed what was wrong with me where two other specialists were unable to. He was outstanding and compassionate - Office facility wonderful with caring staff. Highly recommend.
Didnt like his secretary who just stares at ya and then gives you attitude. If you are waiting for someone to call ya back, you`ll be waiting a long time. He still till this day cant figure out whats wrong with me and tried to put me on 4 different meds...needs to go back to medical school. If you ask my opinion....GET A 2nd Opinion.
I did test after test and he still couldnt tell me what was wrong with me. I also ended up with about a thousand dollars worth of bills with all the tests I had to do to find out he didnt know what was wrong with me..maybe he needed to pay for a vacation or something.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
