Absolutely horrific service. The staff is rude and incompetent. Even the Patient Advocacy does not follow up. It's absolutely shameful that a service for veterans treats veterans in the manner in which they do.
I'm a U.S. Army Veteran. This establishment has served me well as of November 2013.
I have been trying to make an appointment since April 28, 2023. Every time I call I am placed in queue caller number 28 the lowest number was 26. I have never experienced this in the last 22 years of treatment! So my advice is to get the health provider to schedule ALL appointments because it is hell trying to do them on your own!
I have been to this facility 4-6 times now (2022-2023) and my experience is primarily with radiology, but everyone I have ever dealt with in this hospital from the folks in the garage, shuttle drivers, security officers, information, enrollment, random employees in the hallways, as well as everyone on staff in radiology have been extremely nice, helpful, and professional. I am very impressed and send my gratitude to those who go out of their way to be friendly and positive. It really helps when dealing with worrisome or uncomfortable medical procedures, or even routine business. Thank you.
The Patient Advocate’s office is a joke! They do not advocate for the patient. They simply pass your info on with no followup! It’s your responsibility to followup…which means going back to their office each time to let them know nothing happened with your complaint, because god forbid you should call and leave a voicemail that may or may not be returned. If they argue that this is not the process, I can say from experience that this is absolutely how it played out for me on two different occasions from different workers. The first time, I had to visit the office three times (since no one returned my calls) and for my current issue, I’ve also been to the office three times and it still isn’t resolved. This is the definition of a broken system that of course will not change regardless of how many times you complain…you simply have to leave a review so others are made aware! I spoke to the chief of the PA office on my second visit and was told my issues were unacceptable and he would address my concerns with his staff. During the third visit, I was reminded (again) by another staff member that they can only pass along my issue. So what's the point of this office and how can you call yourself an advocate, especially when the website states "specially trained to help you resolve issues." What special training do they need to pass a complaint to another office? I can do that myself. And then they get the pleasure of not having to answer the phones which wouldn't be an issue if they returned phone calls. I left voicemails previously and didn't get a callback even though they have this "looks great on paper" chart of returned phone calls. What's the point of this office? They definitely should not be called the Patient Advocate office…maybe change the name to Patient Complaint office since the definition of advocate does not match their service.
Hubby had to be here on Valentine's day..... The kindness everyone showed is just so heartwarming! Thanks to everyone!!!!!!🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

1st RECOGNITION: After being admitted on the 24th of Feb to the SICU UNIT for a couple of days each nurse on that until was wonderful. You want to talk about bedside manners I've never met a group of wonderful people who cared about my well being , so respectful, made sure my every goal was met. They push me to my recovery in a good way. I just want to take this time and made sure that every staff member that had something to do with my care on this unit was recognized for their excellent care.Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being there for me and my family. Mrs. Lanford 2ndReconginition: After being transferred to Unit 5B-213 until my discharged the staff on this unit has been nothing but wonderful also. There are a few ladies names that I didn't get but they know who they are. I've been in some serious pain and the staff from both SUIC and 5B have been so comforting to me you just couldn't ask for more they were always there when I needed them I would also like to add that my Surgical Team was outstanding I couldn't have asked for a better team. The food was good too.May God Bless each and every one of you. Thank you
I've had good experiences for general care here over the years: primary care, dental, radiology, optometry, mental health, cardiology, the pharmacy, pulmonology, GI. Everything is a bit booked out as expected, but often a message to the office can solve quick problems sooner and core offices are often responsive. Care in the Community has always been a good resource even as the choice act unfortunately pushed them more cases. Those good experiences rely on getting into the office though, and good luck getting a call back from some offices that don't use the normal appointment line scheduler. Over months or weeks you'll end up leaving voicemail, then another, then trying to message, then another voicemail just to get an appointment in 3-4 months by the time they call. Need to reschedule? Repeat that process and wait even longer for that appointment. I've had the Patient Advocate help for this in the past which went well, but you shouldn't need the PA office help for scheduling an appointment, and I'd like to see them or other services fix these offices by helping to provide proper staffing for the phones or connecting their schedule through the main appointment line. Specifically: Dental Rheumatology If you know more, name them in another review here so hopefully they get seen and fixed. It's more costly to get seen by a community provider, but the long wait times exacerbated by not getting a hold of office staff for an appointment leaves little other choice.
My father was in the Va Baltimore for 2 weeks. It was horrible! They treated him as if his health wasn’t a priority. The doctors we’re unprofessional and constantly told lie after lie. Better care should be provided for those your served this country!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
