Yelena Lubman's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Lubman was the OB for our first child. We absolutely love her, and could not say enough good about her. She is extremely knowledgeable about her field, and we found her to be very trustworthy. Our pregnancy was not entirely smooth- around week 33 we had an anomalous test result that resulted in a misdiagnosis by another doctor. Dr. Lubman resisted the pressure to act rashly (an emergency c-section followed by our little girl spending around a month in NICU), demanding patience and restraint against delivering our child early, and was proven right. Treating the patient and not the test value resulted in our little girl going to term, with a healthy baby and a healthy mom. We would happily recommend Dr. Lubman to anyone looking for an OB, and will without a doubt knock on her door again should we have another child.

I absolutely adore Dr. Lubman. I had a high risk pregnancy and came to her after my normal OB stopped the OB side of her practice. From the very start, Dr. Lubman was incredibly supportive and helped my husband and I feel confident about how to navigate the pregnancy. She is empathetic, knowledgeable, supportive, and an amazingly skilled doctor. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Dr Lubman is a great and professional doctor. I have been seeing her for 7 years and never had to look for a new doctor. Every question you have will be answered professionally. She took care through all my pregnancy and delivery. Dr Lubman has a big experience in gynecology and I would recommend her to everyone!

Doctor Lubman is very knowledgeable, competent, thorough, and is a pleasure to work with. She called me personally to give me good news on test results.

Dr. Lubman was amazing. She delivered both of my children at GBMC hospital. I had vaginal deliveries with both ( big babies) and she was there with me throughout the entire process. she made me feel comfortable and at ease. She knew exactly what needed to be done. I highly recommend Dr. Lubman as a practitioner, she is very knowledgeable, compassionate and kind.

If I could give this a zero I would. Worst experience by far and I will never go there again ! Do not go there the nurse practitioner likes to bill you on a yearly exam for absolutely no reason she puts it in the computer as a "problem visit" and that triggers a bill from the insurance because a problem visit isn't convered. They are liars.

Super unprofessional!!!

First I wanted to comment that this is the ONLY doctor rating site that has a rating system and a comment option while protecting the anonymity of the submitter while not having to sign-up as a user to submit, so thank you RateMDs. I chose Dr. Lubman because of her overall stellar reviews and have seen her twice for an annual (general Q&A, breast exam and pap smear) each time. I will cover a few topics about my experiences and to justify as to why I will be choosing another OBGYN. 1) Office. My experience is based in her GBMC office and not the Owings Mills location which seems to be much more updated and cleaner based on others written reviews. The GBMC office is old which is not really an issue, but Lubman and the staff do not seem to care for appearances either with furniture that probably was there since the building was first erected and posters that are so old they wrinkle. 2) Staff. My review of the staff is a bit mixed; for example, the receptionist was very nice and patience, and kept apologizing for the extra wait since they are still transitioning to a new record system and have to do a bit of backtracking on patience information. Dr. Lubman's assistants, however, were distant, cold, and frankly rude. Before I could enter the exam room, one of them called me over to take my vitals in the hallway with a chair and weight scale. She barely made eye contact, never smiled, seemed agitated when I asked her to repeat some questions (she had an accent and I couldn't quit catch some of her words correctly), but here is what really annoyed me: she didn't even bother closing the door to the waiting room! Everyone (even a guy who was there with his pregnant SO) got to hear all the lovely details of my weight and my period schedule. Not mortifying, but the last place I want feel self-conscious is at a doctor's office. 3) The Exam Room. The entire office, including the exam rooms, are carpeted. Again, not too bothersome, except there were other visual cues that made me think.....just gross. One is that they did not bother to put waste a trash in a bin but instead had a huge, transparent trash bag with lots of (bloody) content from past exams. So when the assistant left and told me to undress, I of course did some visual checking. The table and counter seemed to be fine, except when I faced one of the carpeted chairs against the wall I sh*t you not there was dried blood on it. Too bad I can't upload pictures with this review because I took a pic with my cellphone to commemorate my disbelief. 4) Lubman. Lubman as a doctor I would rate as mediocre, but her bedside manner is very lacking. She made an impudent remark over my nipple piercings (it's 2017, come on) and felt like another product on the assembly line. I also felt like she was presumptuous with my exam: when she asked a questions I would sometimes stop and ponderfor a few seconds to backtrack and think if I had any symptoms or issues, but she interpreted this hesitations as "if you have to think about it then there's no issue." I know I am a very standard patient with no chronic issues, not pregnant or trying to conceive, and do not have a complicated medical history but jeez. So that's why I am choosing a different OBGYN for my next annual. I hope you find this review somewhat helpful and my advice when combing through reviews is give merit to any critical reviews in a sea of glowing ones.

Doctor Lubman is amazing! She helped me deliver my identical twin girls vaginally and I will be forever grateful to her! She said she would do everything she could to allow me to have my twins naturally and she told me if anything looked worrisome I would need to have a C-section but she was willing to try and with her help I was able to have them both safely and it was a wonderful experience! She is always very calm and honest and I trusted her completely to keep me and my babies safe during my pregnancy and delivery! I am so lucky to have had her by my side to deliver my baby girls!

She seems nice., but she kept me waiting for 1 hour plus and spend less than 5 minutes with me.
